Candace Cameron Bure Reveals Why She Tirelessly Defends Herself Against Online Trolls
It's no secret that Candace Cameron Bure has experienced quite a bit of success in her career, from Full House and Fuller House to her always expanding slate of projects on Hallmark. Despite the fact that she has maintained a fairly squeaky-clean reputation over the years, the actress has also attracted her share of Internet trolls on social media. But she's made it clear that won't stop her from continuing to engage with her fans.
In response to a host of unsavory comments made regarding a family Christmas photo she'd posted online, Candace Cameron Bure went off the beaten path and chastised those who chose to post rude remarks instead of just staying quiet. Speaking with E! News' Justin Sylvester and Kym Whitley on Daily Pop, the actress doubled down in explaining her anger over the comments.
Like most people, Candace Cameron Bure is fond of using social media to update her followers on various aspects of her life, keeping them "abreast" of her marriage to Valeri Bure, as it were. (She also somehow got a ton of flak from people for posting a pic of her husband with his hand over one of her boobs, despite the fact that they've been married and sexually active for nearly 25 years.) And while all things are relative, it does seem like she's facing more and more negativity as time goes by.
Not that she's going to let it stop her from continuing on with her business. As a devout Christian – though perhaps not as overzealous as her brother Kirk Cameron – Candace Cameron Bure is more often than not a beacon of positivity and warmth. Of course, that tends to just make her more of a target to social media users who thrive on posting hateful comments. The bigger and happier someone is, the easier it is for them to fall into a pit of heinous opinions.
Even when she isn't posting anything particularly flagrant, Candace Cameron Bure has still managed to attract criticisms from others. Very recently, she clapped back against followers who gave her shit for the accounts that she follows on Instagram, which include quite a few political standouts such as President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as burgeoning Arkansas Governor candidate Sarah Huckabee Sanders and conservative commentator Candace Owens. Her explanation is that she follows a wide variety of people from both a personal and professional perspective, and she doesn't endorse the views of everyone she follows.
It's likely that Internet trolls will never go away, so Candace Cameron Bure will likely have to deal with such behavior every time she attempts to share positive-minded posts. Especially now that her followers know that it bothers her. Maybe her next Aurora Teagarden Mysteries Hallmark movie can focus on her trying to unmask a particularly harsh troll. Someone write that script, stat!
