Miranda Cosgrove's iCarly Is Streaming On Netflix Ahead Of Revival, And Fans Can't Get Enough
The year is 2007. iCarly just premiered on Nickelodeon and, now, you're wanting to be an Internet celebrity yourself, trying to come up with wacky ideas for your own web show. The show quickly becomes part of your everyday life up until the series finale in 2012. Fast forward to the year 2021 and the announcement of iCarly’s revival with three of the original stars takes you back. With that announcement, one might want to rewatch the show that was part of their childhood for so long and, now, everyone finally can.
The first two seasons of the hit Nickelodeon series iCarly are now finally on Netflix ahead of the show’s revival on Paramount+. The show was part of a golden age of Nickelodeon programming and has since become a classic alongside other shows like Drake and Josh and Zoey 101. So it should come as no surprise that fans are doing their own random dancing in celebration of finally being able to watch one of their favorite shows -- no matter how old they are. One Twitter user shared their excitement by saying their teachers can assume they’re unavailable all week since they’ll be watching the show:
Other fans were excited about the fact that iCarly being on Netflix finally means being able to watch the One Direction-centric episode of the series, as pointed out by one fan. The band was one of many guest stars throughout the show's run, like Michelle Obama, Emma Stone and David Archuleta. However, with only the first two seasons available, at least for now, it seems like fans will have to wait to rewatch their favorite British boy band on their favorite childhood show:
iCarly is very rewatchable, which means when fans sit down to watch it again, they may not be able to watch only an episode or two at a time. Many are also saying that if they watch the series they were once obsessed with, they probably won't get much work done. Another fan even said “there goes my productivity” when realizing iCarly was on Netflix:
Most, however, are just excited to relive their childhood by taking in the comedic exploits of Carly Shay and her friends. With this, another fan said they'll be reliving her “childhood iCarly obsession” now that the first two seasons are on Netflix:
What's most exciting about the upcoming iCarly revival is that Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor were all announced to be reprising their roles and, with the show now in production, the trie recently got together for a sweet photo. The series will premiere on the new Paramount+, which will launch in March but, in the meantime, grab your remote and watch the first two seasons of the original on Netflix now!
