Rege-Jean Page’s Family Reacted To His Steamy Bridgerton Sex Scenes, And There’s A Peach Emoji Involved
Bridgerton made quite the boom when it landed on Netflix this past Christmas, and the provocative period drama is still radiating aftershocks and maintaining its position on Netflix’s Top 10 list. Fans have enjoyed the show’s many scandals, overshadowed only by the series’ wide array of sex scenes, most notably a four-minute sex montage to the tune of a classical rendition of Taylor Swift. One of the stars of the series, Rege-Jean Page, has reported that his family, however, had a different kind of response to the steamy scenes, and a peach emoji was even involved.
As enjoyable as Rege-Jean Page’s behind has been for viewers, you have to admit it would hit a little different if he were your family member. During his appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Page described how his family reacted to his character in Bridgerton having “non-stop” sexual scenes and how they are handling watching the show. In the actors own words:
The fact that Rege-Jean Page and his family have an alert system for his sex scenes is hilarious. The looming threat of his family rating his bum is really telling of how playful the Page family is, very unlike the Duke of Hastings’ serious demeanor in Bridgerton.
Also, can we talk about the tactical cups of tea? I mean, have you ever heard a more British thing in your life? I bet Earl Grey never thought he’d be used as a deflect tactic for cousins avoiding seeing a family member acting out their honeymoon.
Uncomfortable sex scenes aside, it’s touching that Rege-Jean Page’s family would power through seeing him in so many different sexual poses so often in order to support him and his career. While they may not be happy with the context, it’s clear they are happy for Page and the shape his career is taking.
Season 2 of Bridgerton has been confirmed by Netflix, and Rege-Jean Page will be reprising his role as The Duke of Hastings. There is no set release date, but there's a firm chance we probably won’t see our favorite Bridgerton couples until at least next year. This, of course, means the Page family should stock up on some tea, because there are sure to be some sex scenes to rival, and maybe even beat, the the first season’s.
