Of Course, Fixer Upper's Joanna Gaines Spent A Lot Of Time Designing The Kitchen For Her New Cooking Show
Joanna and Chip Gaines and their series Fixer Upper became staples of HGTV. The show as a trendsetter that greatly changed the landscape of the network's programming. One beloved point of the home-flipping series was Joanna Gaines’ understated country designs (and use of shiplap). After the recent launch of streaming service Discovery+, Gaines has returned with a new cooking show, and she's now revealed how much time went into designing the show’s kitchen.
Joanna Gaines, along with husband Chip Gaines, initially found a place in America’s heart by finding and flipping homes in Waco, TX. The success led to her and her husband leaving HGTV and announcing a lifestyle network, which is currently on hold. Despite the hold-up, Gaines and her husband decided to still roll out content. She recently spoke with Architectural Digest about all things related to her upcoming cooking show, Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines, The designer and television personality spoke on how the kitchen design came together:
Joanna Gaines’ breakdown of the set’s building and designing process was reminiscent of watching her former show. Watching Gaines’ process was both relatable and skillful, and it was enjoyable to see her showcase her impeccable design pedigree. It's no wonder the popularity of her design work and the series has led to a significant fanbase that doesn't mind showing support.
Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Table is one of many projects she and her husband are shepherding in before their Magnolia Network launches. Along with the cooking show, Fixer Upper has been rebooted as Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, nearly three years after it left HGTV’s airwaves, and the couple has revealed that there will be some minor changes to the beloved series. Of course, the show will include a lot of hard work, something Chip Gaines recently expressed through a painful behind-the-scenes photo from the home-flipping show.
Despite headlining a cooking show, Joanna Gaines’ designer sense still playing a role in creating her new series, and it shouldn't come as much of a surprise. As Gaines has shown us in the past, she's more about the overall picture than just the immediate product. You can currently stream Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines and Fixer Upper: Welcome Home on Discovery+.
