Paramount+ Confirms Frasier And Rugrats Revivals, Avatar Follow-Ups And Tons More
The rebranding of CBS All Access as Paramount+ is fast-approaching, but Paramount+ isn't waiting until the launch on March 4 to confirm some major projects that are on the way to the streaming service. The rebranded streamer is not only delivering everything from spinoffs to revivals to animated series, but a wide variety of genres to keep pretty much anybody checking out Paramount+ happy once they premiere. More Frasier is on the way nearly two decades after the original series finale, and some beloved animated franchises are coming with some big names attached. And that's not even close to being all!
Although the biggest new series on the way won't be available when Paramount+ launches in early March, there are even more reasons to get excited about the streaming service that was so widely-hyped during the Super Bowl broadcast in early February. Keep on scrolling for a list of projects to expect, and then some of the details currently available!
Of this long list of titles coming to Paramount+, there are some that are particularly notable. The Frasier reboot is returning as a new comedy series, starring and executive produced by original series star Kelsey Grammer. There are no details available just yet about who from the original series will (or will not) join him in front of the camera, but the long-rumored revival is officially happening.
The Rugrats revival will be something special for kids and for adults who grew up on the original Rugrats in the '90s, as Variety reports the new CG-animated series will bring back original series voice stars to play their characters, including E.G. Daily as Tommy, Nancy Cartwright as Chuckie, Cheryl Chase as Angelica, Cree Summer as Susie, and Kath Soucie as twins Phil and Lil. This new Rugrats will premiere on Paramount+ in 2021.
The Yellowstone action isn't slowing down, as another spinoff is joining the previously-announced Y: 1883. Tentatively titled 6666, the next spinoff will star two Yellowstone familiar faces: Jefferson White's Jimmy Hurdstrom and Ryan Bingham's Walker. Based on the description of the upcoming series, it may well mean that Jimmy and Walker will be leaving Yellowstone's Montana and heading to Texas.
Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan has more shows in the works as well, including Mayor of Kingstown that will star Jeremy Renner, presumably once Renner wraps on the first season of Hawkeye over on another streaming service. Set in Kingstown, Michigan, the show will follow characters attempting bring order and justice. Also coming from Sheridan is Land Man, following a tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs.
And we're still not out of the big-ticket projects! The beloved world of the animated Avatar: The Last Airbender series (not the much-maligned live-action movie) will be expanded upon beyond the Legend of Korra sequel series. THR reports that Nickelodeon has launched Avatar Studios to create TV and movie projects based on The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, with creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko as co-chief creative officers following their split with the live-action series planned at Netflix. Content from the new Avatar Studios will debut on Paramount+, with the first project as an animated feature film scheduled to begin production later in 2021.

Animated series Star Trek: Prodigy is on the way in 2021 as a Star Trek show geared towards children. The Criminal Minds revival will see the reconstituted BAU team track one case over the entire season, according to TVLine, with news of the revival breaking not too long after the original series ended on CBS.
These shows won't be available within the next couple of weeks, but you can find Paramount+ when it launches as a rebranded CBS All Access on March 4.
