2020 saw a multitude of changes for a number of people and, for many, that’s still the case in the early months of 2021. In the world of entertainment, Kim Kardashian has been dealing with as much change as anyone. The reality TV starlet, who recently hit her milestone 40th birthday, is about to say goodbye to her long-running reality TV show and is currently in the middle of divorce proceedings alongside ex Kanye West. Despite what she’s been going through though, Kardashian has been candid, and she recently took some time to reflect on the past year.
Kim Kardashian is fully conscious of how she and the world as a whole were affected by the challenges of the past year. However, while speaking with Vogue, she also explained how she’s choosing to look at things through a more positive lens:
I think that this year has been so challenging for so many people. But I also think that this year was a huge cleanse. Just a huge opportunity for people to really be grateful for the simple things. And that is a huge, I think, awakening that so many people had. Just even the amount of time me and my parent friends have spent with our children has been so beautiful that we get this time. I always try to look at things in the positive way. So, even though it’s been such a challenging year, I always try to regenerate, get creative, spend so much time with family… that part has been so beautiful. Just knowing that when we do start to fill our plates back up, I hope that we don’t fill them up with things that don’t make us happy.
If anything, it sounds like the massive changes in Kim Kardashian’s reality are causing her to cherish the lighter moments she’s able to spend with the ones she cares about. It’s understandable, as an event like the COVID-19 pandemic really can put things into perspective. She went on to tell the trade that this time has also allowed her to take a breather from her strenuous schedule:
Even the work schedule. I used to work non-stop and never taken consideration into slowing down at all.
It’s nice to hear Kim Kardashian has found sources of positivity during this time, as footage from the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians would indicate that it hasn’t been completely easy for her. For months, she remained in the headlines due to various reports centered on her and Kanye West’s marital status. And even now that the divorce has officially been confirmed, the public is becoming aware of the new reality she and her children are experiencing.
Previous reports indicated that Kim Kardashian is looking for a fresh start after breaking up with Kanye West. Although she didn’t mention her estranged spouse here, her recent sentiments definitely line up with those reports. We’ll see what 2021 holds for her.
