How The Conners Honored Late Crew Member With The Season 3 Finale
It has been a rough week for the cast and crew of the ABC sitcom The Conners. News broke yesterday that one of its own technical crew died on set while filming Season 3 of the show. Today, production for The Conners honored their late crew member with a touching tribute.
Actor Michael Fishman, who continued his portrayal of D.J. Conner from Roseanne into The Conners, reposted an image from director Jody Hahn on Instagram about the death of Terrel Richmond. In it, The Conners team dedicate the shoot for the final episode of the season to Richmond, who they call “a dear member of our audio crew” and “a lovely man.” Check out the sweet tribute to Richmond from Instagram below:
Terrel Richmond was a sound engineer who worked on productions such as The Conners and Roseanne for more than two decades. TMZ reported yesterday that Richmond had a medical emergency while on CBS Studio Center’s Stage 22 catwalk during filming for Season 3. Paramedics unfortunately couldn’t resuscitate him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. As of this writing, an official cause of death has not been released.
In the replies of the tribute post to his fallen crew member, actor Michael Fishman indicates how much Terrel Richmond’s death is felt by The Conners’ cast and crew. He wrote:
Michael Fishman took the time to respond to several other mentions about Terrel Richmond’s passing. In one, he revealed that in the end Richmond “was surrounded by people who love and respect him.” In another reply to a supposed childhood friend of Richmond’s, Fishman offered his condolences and stated:
The Conners, led by acting veterans John Goodman and Laurie Metcalfe, has been a comedic staple on Wednesday nights. The show seemed to have picked up naturally where it left off, even after the end of the original revival series. The Conners hasn’t wavered too much in acclaim, either, garnering several Primetime Emmy and Critics’ Choice Television Awards nominations.
The news of Terrel Richmond’s death is a sad conclusion to the end of The Conners third season. But with this production tribute and Michael Fishman’s replies, it is clear that Richmond will not be forgotten by the cast and crew. We here at CinemaBlend continue to extend our thoughts to the family of Mr. Richmond during this time.
