Sky Rojo is Álex Pina’s, the creator of Money Heist, latest collaboration with Netflix. This action-packed series follows three prostitutes, Gina (Yany Prado), Wendy (Lali Espósito), and Coral (Verónica Sánchez) as they try to escape Romeo (Asier Etxeandia), the owner of the club where they work, and pimps Moisés (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) and Christian (Enric Auquer). Sky Rojo Season 1 created this fast-paced world of corruption, exploitation, and immense danger. It also excelled at creating six characters who will grab your attention and hold tight until the very end.
Sky Rojo is a lot of things; a comedy at one moment, a #MeToo movement era drama at another point, and then this crazy sex-filled, drug-fest at other times. The guns blazing, unpredictable wild ride of a series will keep you glued for the entirety of Sky Rojo Season 1, and have you wanting more when it ends. It’s too soon to tell if this will be another hit Netflix TV show for Alex Pina, but let’s hope it at least gets another season, because we still have a lot of questions. Let’s explore some of our Sky Rojo Season 1 queries!
How Will Coral Escape Romeo?
Sky Rojo Season 1 ended with a Coral and Romeo face-off. Romeo started to die, but then Coral decided to go against her better judgment and tried to save him. The season ends with her reviving him, and then him starting to strangle her.
I'm not sure if Coral will knock him out to escape or if he’ll just stop strangling her. As we’ve seen, Romeo is attached to Coral, despite her constantly trying to kill him or take him down. He was pissed when he learned that she was sleeping with Moisés, but I think his affections for her are still there, bubbling beneath the surface. Therefore, I can definitely see him stopping himself from killing her, but having her locked up somewhere. I also can see Coral finding an object and bashing it over his head so that she can escape.
Will Wendy Survive Her Gun Wound?
Moisés managed to get one good shot at Wendy before she finished using a tractor to bury him in his car. When Gina opens the tractor door, she notices that Wendy is shot. Logically, there is no chance that Wendy dies.
The episode ended with her voice-over, so that seems to imply that she is very much alive in the future. Also, based on social media’s reaction, Wendy seems like a popular character, so I highly doubt that she’s dead. Alfredo (Luis Zahera), the veterinarian, will likely have to save yet another person.
Will Moises Escape Being Buried Alive?
On the other end of that fight, we have a newly buried Moisés. He was still trapped in his car when a hole was allowing the dirt to slowly bury him alive. I have a strong feeling that Moisés will find a way to escape. Between Christian and him, Christian is definitely the more expendable of the brothers, so if one of them were to die this early, I would bet money on it being Christian.
There is still a lot more story to tell with Moisés, so I believe he’ll somehow get out of that car.
Will We Learn More About Coral’s Husband?
Coral finally opened up to Wendy and Gina by letting them know her past, and why she chose to become a prostitute. She painted a pretty horrible picture of her ex-husband. He drove her to try to kill him, but she ended up killing her mother-in-law instead.
Coral never stated that she succeeded in killing her husband, so I believe he is still alive and likely wants revenge on Coral for killing his mother. I think it’s just a matter of time before her ex-husband appears to kill her, and anyone who gets in his way.
Was Moises Telling The Truth About His Father’s Death?
Romeo mentions in front of Christian that Moisés owes him because he helped him with a situation with his father. He later revealed to Christian that he killed their father and Romeo helped him get rid of the body. I’m calling bull on this one. I think the story is much deeper than Moisés wants Christian to know.
I believe Christian, as a little child, was the one who killed their father, and Moisés covered it up for him with Romeo. I think this might be the source of Christian’s drug addiction. I think he got addicted to drugs to block out the memory of the murder, and now he’s completely erased it from his memory.
What Did Wendy Mean By Saying The Game Had Just Begun?
Sky Rojo Season 1 ended with a big cliffhanger, which involved having three of the main characters about to die. We then heard Wendy in her voice-over say that this was just the beginning and the game had just begun. Now, my theory is that Sky Rojo is hoping to last at least as long as Money Heist, with multiple seasons. So, of course, the lines were to get people pumped up about more episodes.
I also think it was to signal that the rest of the show will be a cat and mouse chase between the guys and the women, with new additional chasers being added each season. That’s also why I don’t think most of the leads are going to die this soon. They’re needed to keep the chase going.
What Will Happen To Gina’s Baby?
Gina’s pregnancy was a major catalyst for why Gina, Wendy, and Coral hit the road. As the episode went on, there was barely any mention of her pregnancy. With Fernando (Chani Martin) dead, Gina is really on her own with this child.
It’s hard to predict where Sky Rojo plans to go with the baby story, but I definitely see it playing a huge role in some of the decisions going forward. I’m sure Romeo will use it against the girls, and I’m sure the girls will leverage the pregnancy when necessary.
Will Coral Seek Treatment For Her Drug Addiction?
Coral and Christian’s drug addictions have made both of them a liability, but somehow Coral seems to be spiraling even worse than Christian. Right now, Wendy, Coral, and Gina’s priority is to not be captured or killed by Romeo and his crew, but once they get more of a handle of that, they should really check Coral into some sort of rehab.
She’s one bad move away from taking them all down because of her addiction.
Will Anyone Have To Answer For Their Crimes
Sky Rojo Season 1 had a ton of illegal activity, which is understandable in a series like this, but, hopefully, at least one person goes to jail at some point. I mean the list of crimes is enormous, everything from multiple murders, sex trafficking, kidnapping, and I’m sure plenty of other crimes that we know nothing about.
