Evan Peters Is Playing Serial Killer Jeffrey Dahmer For Netflix, And Twitter Has Reactions
There seems to be a trend of well-known actors playing serial killers, or playing people who had relations to serial killers or part of a cult, in recent years. Now another actor is adding “serial killer” to their growing resume and fans are already sharing their thoughts and the connection to the actor has to the new show. Read on for the latest on Evan Peters!
Evan Peters, known on television for American Horror Story and WandaVision, has been cast as notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in a brand new Netflix series, titled Monster. The show will also star Niecy Nash, Richard Jenkins and Penelope Ann Miller, and is from Ryan Murphy, who co-created American Horror Story. Some fans were quick to take to Twitter to hilariously call out both Peters and Murphy, who have a long history of working together and Peters playing practically the same type of roles:
Evan Peters’ portrayal of the “Milwaukee Monster” won’t be the first time the serial killer is portrayed on screen, even if Peters is well-versed in playing different creepy characters by this point. Former Disney star Ross Lynch starred as Jeffrey Dahmer in the 2017 film My Friend Dahmer. Some viewers can’t wait to see Peters’ take on Dahmer, especially after seeing his performances on American Horror Story:
Soon Evan Peters will join the growing list of actors playing serial killers/cult members like Zac Efron, Ross Lynch, Austin Butler, Charlize Theron, Steve Railsback and more. Even though Peters has played creepy characters before, some fans are worried that maybe Peters needs to check the vibes he’s giving off, or he’s just that good of an actor:
The X-Men actor definitely has experience when it comes to playing people he resembles. Evan Peters starred in 2019’s I Am Woman as Jeff Wald, the manager husband of singer Helen Reddy, and 2018’s American Animals as Warren Lipka, a college student who planned a heist of their library with his three friends. Fans can’t help but point out how eerily similar Peters looks compared to the roles he has portrayed and will portray:
With all of the different roles Evan Peters has done, there’s no doubt he nail his performance as Jeffrey Dahmer! It will be interesting to see his take on Dahmer and how different it is compared to Ross Lynch’s version. Either way, Peters will do amazing and with Ryan Murphy at the helm, it will surely be a series you won’t want to miss!
