The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Actor Talks Iron Man’s Influence And Why Their Villain Is So Formidable
Marvel and Disney+’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is only two episodes in and so far it is proving to be a hit for the streaming service. With the series taking place six months post-Blip, the characters and actors are feeling the impact of their fictional fallen colleagues. One actor is speaking out about a certain hero’s influence, as well as what their character could mean for Bucky and Sam.
Former MMA fighter Georges St-Pierre portrays mercenary Georges Batroc, who is the leader of the criminal group LAF, and who many will recognize from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. St-Pierre recently spoke to TV Insider about all things The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, as well as Iron Man’s influence and what makes Batroc such a challenging villain for Sam and Bucky:
Georges St-Pierre also mentioned that Han Solo was used as an inspiration because he was a mercenary and a good guy. Star Wars introduces the first part of the Han Solo story with Han as seemingly very cocky and confident, which is how St-Pierre tries to play his character. In regards to upcoming episodes, St-Pierre couldn’t say much but just that he’s always been a big fan of Marvel superheroes and it’s a dream come true.
Even before The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s big Disney+ debut, the series already broke records for the Disney streamer and was getting high praise from critics everywhere. It’s been nearly two years since the last MCU movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, released in theaters but with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier basically being a mini-movie every week, fans are hopefully satisfied. Seeing two fan-favorite characters with even more underrated side characters in the series is definitely a plus.
It isn’t known what all will happen in the upcoming episodes, as Disney and Marvel like to keep a lid on spoilers, or how much more of a presence George Batroc will have, but in whatever capacity Georges St-Pierre is in the series, he will be a formidable enemy for Sam and Bucky, and we can’t wait to see what happens! New episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier drop on Fridays on Disney+.
