Kelly Clarkson Has A Sweet Message For Her The Voice Replacement, But When Will She Be Back?
NBC’s reality singing competition The Voice is still getting through the Battle Rounds, with the third episode airing next week. While it’s been going on as normal, Kelly Clarkson had to step away from coaching duties for the Battles due to getting sick. Team Kelly was not without a coach though, since country singer Kelsea Ballerini has stepped in as a temporary replacement. Clarkson sent a sweet message to Ballerini and even revealed when she will finally be back.
Kelly Clarkson sent a sweet message to Kelsea Ballerini, her replacement coach while she’s been sick, on Twitter. During the Battles episodes, Ballerini had been texting Clarkson throughout performances, asking for advice, and Clarkson was telling her who to steal if possible and which one she would save. While Ballerini has proven that she can be up to the task of Voice coach, Clarkson thanked the country star for taking care of Team Kelly and revealed that she would be back next week.
With one episode left of the Battles, The Voice will soon be moving onto the Knockout Rounds. The Knockouts will pair artists against a teammate yet again, selecting their own song to individually perform while their direct competitor watches and waits. It was recently revealed that during the Knockouts, Snoop Dogg will serve as the Season 20 Mega Mentor to help artists with their performances and give a fresh perspective.
After being featured as an advisor twice, Kelly Clarkson joined The Voice as a coach in Season 14 and has been one since. Kelsea Ballerini, meanwhile, joined Season 15 as the fifth coach for the Comeback Stage and was even Team Kelly’s advisor for the Battle Rounds for Season 16. With Ballerini having experience on The Voice and knowing how it works, even working with Clarkson during a season, it’s not hard to figure out why the American Idol winner wanted to choose her as her temporary replacement, and it was a great choice!
One of the great things about The Voice is how the coaches get along, or don’t get along. When they’re cracking jokes and making fun of one another or laughing at their mistakes, it’s hard to not smile. Which is why Kelsea Ballerini made it so easy to fit right in. She immediately started joking with John Legend, Nick Jonas and even Blake “Pops” Shelton. Though, filling in for Kelly Clarkson, she would have to be ruthless to the other coaches. While it’s been nice seeing Ballerini filling in as coach for the Battles, it will be even better to have Clarkson back in the chair to round out the Battles before heading into the Knockout Rounds!
The Voice airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC!
