Henry Cavill has had an extremely big year. The longtime movie and TV star was a great source of entertainment early in the pandemic, engaging fans with fun posts, including a viral time he built a computer by scratch (in a tank top). Following quarantine, he hopped right into filming The Witcher Season 2 and even had to train hard after an injury on set. Then, he was supportive as Zack Snyder’s Justice League hit HBO Max. In between all of that, he somehow had time to find love as well and actually introduced his fans to his new leading lady this weekend.
In a post on Instagram, Henry Cavill went full The Queen’s Gambit to introduce us to the woman he has been seeing, and whom he apparently enjoys playing a game of chess with. I’m not the only one to think the post channeled the other popular Netflix series -- which has actually led to an increase in interest around chess I might add -- as popular artist BossLogic even joked, “Queen’s Gambit Season 2 looks dope.”
Henry Cavill’s new post simply introduces us to Natalie and his chess set, though he was spotted walking around with a mystery woman prior to his official post this week. The two were spotted walking through a park with Cavill's dog Kal-El in tow.
Henry Cavill taking to social media to introduce a new woman is kind of a new thing for The Witcher star. He is mostly private about his love life on social, though he has been in several higher profile relationships in the past. That includes dating The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, which made headlines but was very brief. He’s also been connected with now-fired The Mandalorian star Gina Carano, hairstylist Susie Redmond and stuntwoman Lucy Cork, among other relationships.
Henry Cavill and his new partner “Natalie” are not the only relationship to come out of this whirlwind year of mask-wearing and spending time at home. Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas were the biggest relationship to debut during the pandemic, though their fire has officially dwindled and they’ve since broken up. The past year has also seen Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian and Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox among others find a brand new spark. Halle Berry and Van Hunt have also been all over Instagram recently. So, it's been "Love in the Time of Covid" if you will.
It’s unclear how long “Natalie” and Henry Cavill have been spending time together. However, now that The Witcher Season 2 has finally (after more than a year of shooting) wrapped production on the upcoming episodes, the leading man should have a little more time on his hands. We’ll keep you posted regarding any upcoming The Witcher news and, of course, if more information regarding this new mystery woman is ultimately revealed. What I really want to know: Does she prefer him in the blonde wig, though?
