Loki's Tom Hiddleston Explains How Disney+ TV Logo Is A Big Clue
Disney and Marvel Studios’ Loki series is just months away from making its Disney+ debut. The official trailer dropped recently, giving fans clues as to what the trickster could be up to since his cheeky appearance in Avengers: Endgame. Now, Tom Hiddleston reveals that some clues have been right in front of our faces this entire time.
The logo for the new series is different than logos of most Marvel projects. Each letter is different, never once the same. Tom Hiddleston told Empire that much like the show itself Loki’s font-shifting title card directly represents the God of Mischief and plays on one of his signature abilities. Hiddleston explained:
While the series does take place following the events of Avengers: Endgame and seemingly takes Loki through alternate timelines, it will be much more than that. During the same interview, Tom Hiddleston suggested that the shapeshifting logo might give fans a good idea of what the show is trying to hit upon when it comes to the titular character. Hiddleston said:
So it sounds like the show will also explore Loki’s struggle with identity and help to define exactly how he is after everything he's been through thus far. Loki's been in the MCU for nearly a decade, and it's definitely time we take a look at some of his internal issues, even if this isn't exactly the main Loki we've come to know.
Fans may remember that in Avengers: Endgame, the heroes time travelled to 2012 New York to gather Infinity Stones in order to ultimately bring back those Thanos killed. During this time, Loki stole the Tesseract and, after making off with it, he went through a portal and wasn’t seen again. When it was confirmed that Loki would follow the events of the fourth Avengers film, it was just a question of what his subsequent journey would be. And even with the trailer, it’s hard to predict what's to come.
Despite the mystery still surrounding the show, it should be an interesting watch for fans, especially since Loki is one of the few Marvel characters to be resurrected under such unique circumstances. We'll also be watching closely to see just how much that logo truly correlates with the story being told.
Loki debuts on Disney+ on Friday, June 11.
