What Tom Hiddleston Thinks About His New Loki Co-Stars Ahead Of Disney+ Debut
Marvel Studios and Disney+’s Loki is just months away from finally making its debut! Now, ahead of the premiere, Tom Hiddleston has spilled the beans on what he truly thinks about his co-stars.
Joining Marvel veteran Tom Hiddleston in the series are Richard E. Grant, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku and Owen Wilson. With such a talented cast in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, there no question the series has a lot going for it. Hiddleston recently told EE what he thinks of his co-stars and what they bring to the MCU through their roles:
Last year, Owen Wilson was one of the first high-profile actors reported to be joining the cast after Hiddleston, and he was later formally announced alongside his fellow co-stars at Disney's Investor Day. The series doesn’t mark the first time Wilson and Tom Hiddleston will be working together, as the two previously starred in the Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris in 2011. On a hilarious side note, Hiddleston even did an impression of Wilson, which the actor has even seen himself.
Wilson will portray Time Variance Authority member Mobius M. Mobius, who recruits the God of Mischief to help the TVA. The energy between Loki and Mobius is already chaotic based on the first look, and it seems it will get even better as the series goes on.
The roles of Richard E. Grant, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku are still unknown at this point but, given the fact that their characters are still being kept a secret with just two months away from the premiere, they're likely to be significant characters. Marvel is known for keeping secrets just for the sake of keeping secrets but, according to Tom Hiddleston, these characters will have the charisma and playfulness that is expected from a series about the God of Mischief.
Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame (during which Loki stole the Tesseract in 2012 New York), the series will follow the Asgardian trickster as he goes through a dizzying assortments of events as he attempts to fix the new timelines he's created. And not only will he deal with the power of the Tesseract and the implications of the mess he’s caused, but he'll also be struggling with his identity and who he really is.
While Marvel fans will have to wait a little longer for the next film to be released, the studio is keeping fans more than occupied with their library of original Disney+ series. WandaVision proved to be an instant hit and with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier keeping fans pumped ahead of its final two episodes, both shows have upped the expectations for Loki. But with Tom Hiddleston bringing his A-game to his fan-favorite role alongside a talented cast, there’s no doubt the series will be an unforgettable ride.
