Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Arrested For Domestic Violence
Jersey Shore Family Vacation brought the stars of Jersey Shore back into the limelight after years away. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro's drama with the mother of his child, Jenn Harley, dominated the show's story as well as headlines. Now he has found himself in trouble again, as he was arrested Thursday for felony domestic violence.
News of the arrest was first broken by TMZ, which reports Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was in Los Angeles at the time of the arrest. Details of the incident are still developing at the time of writing, though a source cited by the outlet confirmed that Jenn Harley was not involved in the incident. Ortiz-Magro was reportedly watching his young daughter Ariana at the time of the incident, but she went to stay with his brother to wait for Harley to pick her up. There are no details as of yet regarding who else was involved. Ortiz-Magro has been dating his current girlfriend, Saffire Matos, since February 2020.
While it's unclear what the full extent of the situation is, the current outlook for the Jersey Shore Family Vacation star is not positive. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro is still believed to be under a 36-month probation deal, which he received after a previous domestic violence incident with Jenn Harley from back in 2019.
In the previous incident, authorities were called to an Airbnb that Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Jenn Harley were renting out in Los Angeles. Harley called authorities after he allegedly struck her, chased her around the room with a knife, and then locked himself inside the home with their daughter Ariana. Ortiz-Magro eventually had to be tased by authorities before he was arrested and taken in.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro ultimately took a plea deal which resulted in probation, but this latest arrest could negate any lenience he got for the 2019 charge. It's possible the Jersey Shore Family Vacation star could face some serious consequences and possibly even time behind bars.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro's downturn had been thoroughly chronicled on the early seasons of Jersey Shore Family Vacation, though things seemed to be turning around after he quietly went to rehab in 2019 and had a largely incident-free 2020. Obviously, things changed as of late, though it's not entirely clear at this time what's in store for him in the future. His legal team has not offered official comments regarding the arrest other than that they need more time to investigate.
Jersey Shore Family Vacation reportedly resumed filming new episodes back in March, but there's no official timeline of when to expect new episodes at MTV. Anyone curious can catch up on the series in the meantime on Paramount+ and get up to speed on Ronnie Ortiz-Magro's drama and The Situation's surprising redemption.
