Looks Like Jen Shah Is Back To Filming Real Housewives After Her Arrest
Jen Shah holds the distinction of being the only star within the Real Housewives franchise to be arrested weeks after the finale of their successful freshman season. Shah was charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York with money laundering and wire fraud in an alleged telemarketing scheme that reportedly stole from hundreds of individuals. Following the arrest, her not guilty plea, and the judge telling Shah that she could work while out on bond, it looks like the reality star is back to filming Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s second season.
To the surprise of many, the marketing executive posted a photo on her Instagram Stories yesterday that features herself and her Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-stars Heather Gay and Whitney Rose, and they appear to be in the midst of filming. Yet the cryptic caption reads only, “Forget bad weather, how about a tropical typhoon.” Fans of Jen Shah, who actually managed to get her initial arraignment hearing delayed, are undoubtedly attempting to puzzle out the meaning behind the message.
Filming for Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s second season was supposedly taking place when Jen Shah was initially indicted and arrested on March 30. Reportedly, production went into a tailspin as it tried to track down Shah to figure out the situation. In the aftermath, many assumed that due to the serious nature of the charges – Shah faces decades in prison if found guilty – that she either could not or would not continue putting her personal life on television.
But as it turns out, Jen Shah is not quite done with the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City and perhaps giving her side of the story. The other ladies have been notably silent about the legal drama since it erupted. But from the looks of this photo, Jen Shah’s co-stars seem to be rallying to her side. This is quite impressive, considering Shah was at odds with Heather Gay and Whitney Rose as recently as the Season 1 reunion special.
Whether Jen Shah’s Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-stars truly do support her during this contentious time, remains to be seen. Regardless, filming for Season 2 will likely not fail to deliver a doozy for fans, especially if it shows the other ladies' reactions to Shah's arrest on camera. Real Housewives of New York’s Luann de Lesseps and Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice had their difficulties dealing with the reactions and speculation from others following their own legal troubles.
For now, it seems that Jen Shah is attempting to go about her life as normal. A day after her not guilty plea in virtual court, the controversial Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star even took to her Instagram stories to post of photo of herself decked out in a Gucci tracksuit and promoting the fan-led “Free Jen” merch. Her glamorous lifestyle and “Shah Squad” are apparently at the heart of the legal matter, according to the prosecutors of the case. But again, if she's resuming her usual business, it's no surprise that she'll continue to show off her brand when she can.
