The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco Has Good News For Fans Hoping For A Reunion
Once a television show manages to make it past the decade mark on air, even the most die hard fans will begin to wonder if they could soon be without their beloved series. So, it wasn't exactly a surprise when it was announced that The Big Bang Theory would wrap with Season 12 in 2019, but that doesn't mean that viewers who watched Penny, Leonard, Raj, Howard, Bernadette, Amy, and Sheldon for all those years were at all happy about losing the hit sitcom. This means that a lot of fans are very hopeful for a reunion, and star Kaley Cuoco has some good news for them.
As her fans will probably know by now, Kaley Cuoco has spent much of her time in the past two years away from The Big Bang Theory working on The Flight Attendant, the hit HBO Max series which saw the former Penny Hofstadter taking on a very different role. Cuoco nabbed her first Golden Globe nomination for her new show, and even though she's currently hard at work on Season 2, and other projects, when asked by E! News if she'd be down for a BBT reunion, she said:
Oh, see there? It sounds like there's a lot of hope for audiences who loved The Big Bang Theory when it comes to a possible reunion of some sort, and that does make a lot of sense. For one thing, the cast has continued to support each other in all of those new shows and other things they've been working on, as well as in their personal lives. So, there is, thankfully, no hint of a big beef which could make it impossible for all of them to get together again one day.
As Cuoco also noted, though, fans shouldn't get their hopes up that such an even would be coming along any time soon, because all of The Big Bang Theory cast has already moved on to other things. Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) recently got some good news about her proposed revival of Night Court, and Mayim Bialik's (Amy) new comedy, Call Me Kat (which is executive produced by Jim Parsons), is awaiting word on Season 2.
Kunal Nayyar (Raj) signed on to appear in Adam Sandler's latest star-filled film for Netflix, Spaceman, and Simon Helberg (Howard) has a major role in the upcoming musical romance, Annette, with Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard. And, Johnny Galecki (Leonard) has been working on rebooting National Lampoon’s Vacation as a TV show.
Even though Kaley Cuoco and her former The Big Bang Theory co-stars are all busy with new shows and films, this doesn't necessarily mean that fans will have to wait as long as we've had to for the Friends reunion to come together. (We can blame 2020 for some of that, but still!) Cuoco herself seems quite hopeful that we'll be able to see something way sooner, in fact, and added:
Kaley Cuoco is totally on board for fitting a reunion of The Big Bang Theory into her schedule whenever everyone's ready to come back together, and it really shows how much the show, her co-stars and the fans mean to her.
