It's Always Sunny's Rob McElhenney Shares A+ Story About Getting High With Snoop Dogg Before Work
Rob McElhenney has been busy. With his hit FXX comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia poised to make history with its next season and a second season of Mythic Quest (which just premiered on Apple TV+) to promote, he’s telling the tale of when he got to chill with rap legend Snoop Dogg.
In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rob McElhenney shared the hilarious story of Snoop Dogg’s time on the set of Mythic Quest (Snoop made a guest appearance in the second season) after Kimmel asked if McElhenney had ever been known to party before work.
Talk about a way to start the day! It’s worth noting that the aforementioned wardrobe was a black mo-cap suit covered in little red dots, so Rob McElhenney's uncertainty as to whether or not Snoop Dogg would want to wear it is pretty understandable. McElhenney continued with the Snoop Dogg joint story, saying:
I can’t find any fault with that logic. It would be rude to turn down a guest, right? For those worried about possible repercussions, you can breathe a sigh of relief. According to Rob McElhenney, they were very responsible about the whole situation.
Snoop, obviously, is old hat when it comes to things like joints. But Rob McElhenney? Not so much. He explained that he doesn’t usually ‘partake,’ especially on a work day and so early in the morning. They also did not share, for COVID-related reasons. Of course, this led to McElhenney consuming much more than he originally thought he would. This led him to reconsider his previous declaration.
As terrifying as that sounds, all was well in the end. Rob McElhenney and Snoop were successfully able to shoot their scenes for Mythic Quest, as evidenced by a short clip played by Jimmy Kimmel.
Want more Snoop and McElhenney? Aside from their appearances on Mythic Quest, you can find Snoop Dogg in the upcoming animated film The Addams Family 2, where he’ll return as the hirsute Cousin It alongside Star Wars alum Oscar Isaac as Gomez and the prolific Charlize Theron as Morticia. As previously mentioned, Rob McElhenney stars in the brand new season of Mythic Quest, which just dropped on Apple TV+.
