The end of an era is nearly here, as Keeping Up with the Kardashians is preparing to wrap up its 20-season run. Soon fans will no longer be able to see the daily exploits of the Kardashian/Jenner clan as they balance family, celebrity and drama. As the show reaches its conclusion, viewers are now starting to get more details on the family’s decision to end their long-running reality show. And the most recent episode has now shed light on how Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and their family managed to keep the decision a secret.

Shortly after news broke that Keeping Up with the Kardashians would be ending, Kris Jenner spoke on the family’s reasoning for ending the show. She explained that the decision was sudden but that everyone felt the time was right. Kim Kardashian echoed these thoughts during her personal interview on the show:
All in all, the Kardashians seem to be at peace with the decision and, based on what’s been seen on the show, they’ve had plenty of support. Kim Kardashian even revealed during the episode (filmed months ago) that now-estranged husband Kanye West reacted to the news by advising her to do whatever makes her happy.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians may be winding down, but the show is sure to give fans even more memorable moments during the final stretch of episodes. You can catch new episodes Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on E!.
