After Chicago Med Exit Was Revealed, Torrey DeVitto Shared A Sweet Message With Fans
With recent news that Chicago Med's Gaffney Chicago Medical Center is losing two of its staff members before the upcoming seventh season, one star is opening up after the announcement. Torrey DeVitto, who’s played Dr. Natalie Manning since the series’ beginning, shared a sweet message with the fans after the news broke.
Gaffney Medical’s Attending in Emergency Medicine/Pediatrics, Dr. Natalie Manning, has been through a lot fans first met her in the pilot six years ago. There's a lot that comes with playing a doctor on television, and Torrey DeVitto has been doing it flawlessly since 2015. So you can imagine that many were surprised when it was announced that both she and Yaya DaCosta, who plays Nurse April Sexton, will officially be exiting the series after six seasons. With this, DeVitto shared a heartfelt message with fans on her Instagram about how means for her to have been able to bring the character to life:
Torrey DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta's surprise departures from the show stem from their desires to focus on other projects. DeVitto is joining the cast of independent feature Skelly, a heartwarming Halloween-set film. The movie centers on an 11-year-old whose grandfather dies, an event which ultimately changes the young boy’s views on morality. DeVitto will play the boy’s mother in the movie. While the actress shared her excitement with fans, it’s also clear that Chicago Med fans and experience will stay with her forever:
Following Torrey DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta’s departures at the end of Season 6, there will only be five remaining original cast members on Chicago Med. But while Dr. Manning will be leaving Gaffney Medical soon, it’s entirely possible that she could return in a future episode, given how much the show means to DeVitto and the impact Natalie will no doubt leave on the medical center. Check out DeVittto's original post down below:
It'll be interesting to see just how Torrey DeVitto’s Dr. Natalie Manning will leave Gaffney Medical. However, there's a chance that Natalie’s transgressions with the trial meds, will somehow factor into her departure. Natalie’s absence will definitely be felt in Season 7, but there's still the question of who, if anyone, is going to replace her, since her position is an important one. The Season 6 finale is only a couple weeks away, so fans don’t have much time left with Dr. Natalie Manning. Until then, we'll just keep speculating away regarding her exit.
The final episodes of Chicago Med’s sixth season air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
