When Marvel’s WandaVision debuted back in January, it was met with strong reviews and massive viewership. It seemed like almost everyone was tuning in week after week to learn more about the mystery surrounding Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s suburban surroundings. Well, as it so happens, Ant-Man star Paul Rudd was among the many who was faithfully watching the Disney+ show. And in typical Paul Rudd fashion, the actor had some incredibly kind words for one of the series’ key stars.
Paul Rudd has easily become one of the most beloved stars in all of Hollywood, and many would likely relish the opportunity to work with him. WandaVision’s Kathryn Hahn is more than familiar with Rudd, as the two actors have worked together on a total of six films. Rudd has a lot of respect for the fan-favorite actress and, while discussing his work with her with Vanity Fair, Rudd couldn’t help but praise her performance as the crafty witch Agatha Harkness:
I mean are we really surprised that Paul Rudd would do or say something kind? This is, after all, the same man who’s done things like surprise a Marvel fan on their birthday and hand out cookies to early voters. And that wasn’t the only praise he offered Kathryn Hahn, either. Rudd, who’s starred alongside her in films like Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Our Idiot Brother, also described what it’s like to actually work with Hahn on a set:
It’s not hard to see why Paul Rudd would have so much praise for Kathryn Hahn as both an actor and a person. She’s more than proven herself to be a skilled performer, especially in the comedy realm and, if you’ve seen her in interviews, she’s typically nothing short of delightful.
As WandaVision’s Agatha Harkness (or Agnes), she quickly became a scene-stealer, deftly playing the classic sitcom role of the “nosy neighbor.” And after the character revealed her true identity and mission, Hahn -- figuratively and literally -- rose to the occasion. And of course, who could forget who could forget her chart-topping theme song, “Agatha All Along.” You can check out Kathryn Hahn’s performance by streaming WandaVision on Disney+, which you can sign up for using this link.
Agatha Harkness’ future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently unclear but, with the character still alive by the end of WandaVision, she still has plenty of potential. With any luck, we’ll get to see the sneaky villain return sooner rather than later.
