90 Day Fiancé's Yara Zaya Claps Back At Online Critics Over Her Feelings About Jovi's Job
90 Day Fiancé star Yara Zaya is on the offensive after taking a bunch of criticism from fans regarding her storyline on Happily Ever After? In recent weeks, Yara has complained about her husband Jovi Dufren's job, which requires him to be away from home for weeks at a time. It's understandable that Yara would be upset about such a thing, given the couple recently welcomed their infant daughter Mylah into the world, but the question here is: shouldn't she have seen this coming?
Popular 90 Day Fiancé blogger John Yates suggested just that in a recent Instagram post, and in the process, he actully got a response directly from Yara Zaya herself. Yara popped up in the comments to defend herself from Yates and any others in the fandom who shared his beliefs that she has no right to be upset about the nature of Jovi's job, given how it supports their family. In her words:
Yara apparently wasn't completely aware of the nature of Jovi's job before she made the life-changing trip to the U.S., and as she mentioned, Jovi's mom lives over an hour away from her and thus can't assist as much as one would hope. The rest of Yara's family is over in Ukraine, so she's practically alone with the baby for 4 out of every 8 months that Jovi works.
Yara found plenty of support from 90 Day Fiancé fans in the replies, to be sure, but there were also many who wished to prod her further. Responding to another fan, Yara further defended her response to Jovi leaving for his job on Happily Ever After?, and clearly wasn't feeling apologetic for how things played out.
90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? is still somewhat early in its latest season, so it's quite possible we'll see Jovi's job take centerstage again as the season continues. There's been no indication that Jovi has quit his job, which sends him across the world to handle maintenance work on underwater oil pipelines via robotics. Perhaps Yara's recent online rant was tied to the fact that Jovi's job is still a sore subject for the couple, or maybe she's just tired of being criticized for a situation that she felt is entirely justified to be emotional about.
90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC on Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET. New episodes can be seen on Discovery+ on Fridays, as well as new installments of 90 Day: The Single Life, which is exclusive to the streaming platform.
