The surprising romance between Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kourtney Kardashian has had fans and celebs alike buzzing, but things took a turn for the controversial when Barker’s ex-wife Shanna Moakler weighed in on their relationship and also accused Kourtney Kardashian's sister Kim and Barker of hooking up while he was still married. Apparently, Kim Kardashian had some time to spare while getting her nails done recently to respond to the rumors.
The SKIMS entrepreneur has been notably quiet about her own relationship issues with Kanye West that might’ve led to their divorce, but Kim Kardashian isn’t letting the “narrative” continue that she hooked up with her sister’s new boyfriend in the past while he was married. She was asked point-blank on her Instagram stories on Wednesday, “Did you hook up with Travis Barker?” And the reality star had this to say (via Page Six):
NO! False narrative! We’ve been friends for years and I’m so happy for him and Kourt.
Kim Kardashian denying the Travis Barker hookup accusation is a change from her and her family’s usual tactic of ignoring certain issues or rumors. The Kardashian-Jenners don’t make it a habit of publicly addressing the many dramas they end up caught in, unless the rumors get out of hand or it’s about to be shown on Keeping Up With the Kardashians anyway. This was seen recently in Khloe Kardashian’s filtered pic snafu and Kylie Jenner denying that she herself is in an open relationship with Travis Scott.
Clearly, though, Shanna Moakler has a different view than the Kardashians of what happened in the past. Moakler claimed that the hookup between Kim Kardashian and Travis Barker resulted in the end of their 4-year marriage and, moreover, that Kim and Kourtney have “destroyed” her relationship with her two teenage kids. An old Aubrey O’Day post seemed to back up Moakler’s claims of some kind hookup happening. Barker himself at one point had no problem sharing his appreciation for Kim Kardashian’s “curvy” body.
Either way, the rumors and speculation don’t appear to be a big deal to either Kourtney Kardashian or Travis Barker, who are continuing their lovey-dovey post fest on social media. The couple even just went on vacation with the kids to Disneyland. Supposedly, the two have only been dating a few months but are already comfortable in saying “I love you” or tattooing it on the other person.
Now that Kim Kardashian is willing to clear out the rumors, she should know we’re all still wondering about a few other things. Her divorce from Kanye West, for one. And that 2000-year-old ancient statue, for another. Keeping Up With the Kardashians is ending soon, so let the truth be known.
