After Major NCIS Exit, Brian Dietzen And More Bid Farewell To Longtime Co-Star Emily Wickersham
NCIS star Emily Wickersham had been on the long-running CBS drama for years before “hangin’ this hat and jacket up” at the end of Season 18. The actress shared a post when she officially confirmed she would be leaving the veteran drama after around 172 episodes on the air. However, her goodbye also came with some well-wishes from her pals on set.
At the time of the announcement that Wickersham would be leaving the longtime CBS drama, the actress also said the cast, crew, fans and consistency of NCIS have all been the best, noting,
After she typed out those words, her newcomer co-star Katrina Law was quick to respond with a series of heart emojis. Law, who was introduced to the NCIS family only recently this season (it kinda looks like as a potential replacement) also shared a post last month featuring Wickersham and thanking the NCIS team and fans for making her feel so welcome as Jessica Knight on the series. Law had previously been a late addition to Hawaii Five-0 before it was cancelled on CBS as well.
Along with Law’s emoji-filled commentary, NCIS co-star Brian Dietzen had a longer and more sentimental comment. The actor, who has played Jimmy Palmer on the drama since 2004, shared a tribute to his now-former co-star on Instagram, as well.
Her co-star Diona Reasonover also commented on the post, noting “Thank you for everything, friend.” And given the broad swath of NCIS cast members over the years, the comments didn’t stop there. Maria Bello, who herself left NCIS in Season 18, also commented on the post, telling Emily Wickersham “Love You Em!” Finally, CBS TV’s official account also commented, telling the actress “Thanks for making history with us.”
You can see Emily Wickersham’s full goodbye post, which also includes a thank you to the network itself, below.
NCIS has seen plenty of cast changes over the years; it’s to be expected with a show that has not only been on the air for over a decade but is approaching the two-decade mark. The show has already been renewed for Season 19, but will be looking a little different when it returns to the schedule this fall. For now, see what else is coming up with our summer TV premiere schedule.
