Cobra Kai's Ralph Macchio Reveals Key Element He's Looking Forward To Exploring In Season 4
Cobra Kai Season 4 is on the way to Netflix in late 2021 and, after the third season, there's a lot to be excited about. The upcoming All Valley Karate Tournament has tremendous stakes, where the losing team will be forced to walk away from karate forever. Given the stakes, Daniel LaRusso decided to join forces with Johnny Lawrence, but will that be enough to take down John Kreese and his merciless Cobra Kai fighters?
It's a plot thread that largely relies on a key element that Ralph Macchio recently told Deadline he's most looking forward to. Macchio recently spoke about the intrigue in the Daniel and Johnny team-up, and how these two sensei will overcome their own problems in order to coach their students:
The Ross and Rachel element of Daniel and Johnny's relationship is the "will they or won't they" that asks whether or not the two will ever actually be trusted friends. The two have been through their fair share of ups and downs in the series and, while team-ups have happened in the past, they never seem to last. However, now that the two have united against a common enemy amid such high stakes, one would think things will be different.
Daniel and Johnny's emotions aren't the only thing at play here either. It's been officially revealed that Terry Silver will be involved in Season 4, likely as a close aide to Kreese as the tournament nears. Those combined forces will be tough to overturn, especially if Silver is able to recruit some other talent to add to the already formidable ranks of Cobra Kai.
The road won't be easy I'm sure, but Cobra Kai fans can hope that Daniel and Johnny will be able to put their egos aside for the good of their students. Eagle Fang Karate (provided they stick with that name) definitely will struggle to match the natural athleticism of Cobra Kai, so they'll need the skill of both their teachers to help combat that. Hopefully, their fighting styles are able to mesh better than conflict and ultimately create something that is the best kung fu we've seen in The Karate Kid franchise.
Cobra Kai Season 4 is expected to arrive in the back half of 2021. Season 4 has the potential to be the best season yet, especially if the series found a way to bring back one of its best supporting actors. We'll have to wait and see though!
