Why Jared Padalecki Doesn't Agree With Fans Who Think Walker And Micki Should Hook Up
On Jared Padalecki’s Walker, the titular character is still grieving over the murder of his wife, Emily. Though now a year after her death, Padalecki’s Cordell Walker is slowly getting back into the game. While it seems like he and Geri (played by Odette Annabelle) are getting close, some fans are hoping to see Walker hook up with his Texas Ranger partner, Micki (Lindsey Morgan). Now, the Supernatural alum is speaking out about the potential relationship.
These days, it's hard to find a show that doesn’t focus on more than one romantic relationship, and it's even harder to find a show that doesn't include any romantic relationships at all. On Jared Padalecki’s former show, Supernatural, the main focus was on the Winchester brothers, and there weren’t too many romantic relationships each brother had that lasted more than a few episodes. Padalecki opened up to TVLine about Sam and Dean’s relationship as it compared to Walker and Micki’s:
While Sam and Dean’s relationship will always be a special one, Walker and Micki’s can be a special one too, simply due to the fact that there doesn’t have to be anything sexual or romantic between them. Jared Padalecki pointed out the chemistry the two characters have and why he doesn’t see them going any further than work partners and friends, even though some fans want it to happen:
According to Jared Padalecki, it doesn’t seem like Walker and Micki will be getting together any time soon, which could spell good news for fans of Walker and Geri. And also given the fact that Micki is currently taken and happy, it wouldn’t make much sense. However, it will be nice to see the two’s work relationship grow now that Walker is taking a leave of absence, at least, hopefully, temporarily.
New episodes of Walker air Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. And if you need to catch up, past episodes of the show are also available to stream on CWTV.com
