Legends Of Tomorrow Fans Are Feeling All The Feels After Caity Lotz's Big Sara Episode
Spoilers ahead for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 6, Episode 7 “Back to the Finale: Part II.”
The latest episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow was a long time coming for many fans, especially those who adore “Avalance.” Since the shocking ending of the Season 5 finale, in which Sara (Caity Lotz) was abducted by aliens, the Legends have been trying everything they can to get their fearless leader back. Luckily, the time finally came, and fans couldn’t be happier!
As the Legends tried to retrieve their leader, Ava (Jes Macallen) simply wanted her girlfriend back, especially after learning that Sara was going to propose. In last night’s episode, Mick successfully rescued Sara, with the help of Gary, and the Legends went back to the time that Sara was abducted in the Season 5 finale to prevent her from from being taken in the first place. When the Legends were trying to stay together for moral support, Ava was cooped up in her room, rewatching a video of Sara on loop. it was a heartbreaking moment, as one fan reminded everyone on Twitter:
Following Sara's long-awaited return, the first person she reunited with on the ship was Ava, who at first, didn’t want to turn around for fear that Sara wouldn’t even be there. Sara assures her girlfriend that it’s her and the reunion was a beautiful one that can make any fan cry, like this one Twitter user:
The moment that really made fans melt came towards the end of the episode. After reuniting once again with the rest of the Legends, the team started making their way back to the Waverider. However, Sara stopped Ava and got on one knee, finally proposing. Ava gave her a premature “Yes” and the rest of the Legends turned around to witness the beautiful moment. After officially saying “Yes” and hugging, fireworks went off, thanks to a bomb strapped to a fake Sara. All in all, it was more than anyone ever expected, as one fan pointed out:
Caity Lotz had occasionally teased the highly anticipated reunion, while at the same time not exactly telling fans when it would happen. Knowing that fans were waiting on the Avalance reunion, she said during a recent TVInsider interview that Sara’s reunion with Ava would be worth it, and boy was she right:
While Avalance’s reunion and proposal is one for the books, it’s not hard to still worry that something is coming their way, as barely anyone on Legends of Tomorrow can seem to catch a happy break. In a promo for next week’s episode, Sara is just happy to get back in the saddle and with her new fiancée, but just how long will that happiness last? I’m as much of an Avalance shipper as the next fan, so here’s hoping the danger is out of their way and the Legends get to stick together, at least for now.
