Our wholesome and very funny comfort show, Schitt’s Creek, left the airwaves in April 2020. It left a Rose family size hole in our TV show viewing schedule and our hearts. The Rose family may be gone for good (or perhaps for just now), but the actors who play Johnny, David, Moira, and the Schitt’s Creek cast are still making TV shows and movies. You can also still watch Catherine O’Hara, Dan Levy, and Eugene Levy films and TV shows all across the internet.
Catherine O’Hara, Chris Elliott, and Eugene Levy had already built an impressive resume of performances long before joining the Schitt’s Creek cast. Now Dan Levy and others are using the success of the comedy to propel their careers even further. Dan Levy (David Rose)
You cannot think of David Rose without hearing Annie Murphy as Alexis say “David!” David is the pansexual and pretentious son of Moira (O’Hara) and Johnny (Levy). He comes to Schitt’s Creek already hating everyone and everything about it, but he finds his place among the crazy townsfolk and builds a life there that he truly grows to love. Dan Levy was also co-creator and one of the executive producers of Schitt’s Creek.
Prior to joining the Schitt’s Creek cast, Levy had small roles in films like Cyberstalker, Degrassi Goes Hollywood, Admission, and Stage Fright. In 2020, he had a supporting role in the Christmas movie Happiest Season. He played Abby (Kristen Stewart)’s best friend John. He also appeared in an episode of Modern Family and had judging and/or hosting duties on Dismantled, The Great Canadian Baking Show, and Saturday Night Live. He was also the narrator on The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show.

Eugene Levy (Johnny Rose)
Eugene Levy played the patriarch of the Rose family. He made his fortune with a chain of video stores. He bought Schitt’s Creek as a joke, but it then became the Rose family’s final asset. Eugene Levy co-created Schitt’s Creek with his son Dan Levy. He’s also one of the series’ executive producers.
Many recognize Levy from his time in the American Pie franchise as Jim (Jason Biggs)’s dad, Noah Levenstein. As of 2021, he played this character for seven movies in the American Pie franchise. Many also recognize Levy from the cult-favorite Christopher Guest movie Best in Show. He then re-teamed with Guest for A Mighty Wind and For Your Consideration.
Levy has also appeared in iconic '80s and '90s movies such as National Lampoon’s Vacation, Splash, the Father of the Bride films, and I Love Trouble. He also appeared in Josie and the Pussycats, Serendipity, Like Mike, Finding Dory, and Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian.

Catherine O’Hara (Moira Rose)
Moira Rose is a former soap star, still holding on to a bit of her glory days. Most of Alexis and David’s quirky habits are clearly inherited from their mother Moira. Catherine O’Hara has had so many iconic roles throughout her over 45-year career. Many may recognize her voice as Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas. O’Hara also teamed up with Tim Burton in Beetlejuice and Frankenweenie.
Home Alone fans will recognize O’Hara for her role as Kate McCallister in the first two Home Alone movies. Yes, she was the mother who left or lost her son twice. O’Hara has also appeared in the same Christopher Guest films with Schitt’s Creek co-star Eugene Levy. These films are Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration. She also appeared in the movies Penelope, Chicken Little, Where the Wild Things Are, and Dick Tracy.

Annie Murphy (Alexis Rose)
Everyone needs a little bit of Alexis in their lives. She came to Schitt’s Creek very self-centered but discovered that there was more to life than money and crazy adventures, not much more, but at least a little more. Annie Murphy appeared in episodes of Blue Mountain State, Beauty & the Beast, Flashpoint, and Rookie Blue. She was also one of the main characters in the Canadian comedy The Plateaus, which centered on an indie rock band.
In 2020, she landed the lead role on Kevin Can F**k Himself. The series began airing on AMC in June 2021. Murphy joined the cast of the second season of Russian Doll in the same year.

Emily Hampshire (Stevie Budd)
Stevie is one of Johnny’s employees. However, as the series progresses, Stevie becomes like another member of the Rose family. Emily Hampshire appeared in the 1998 romantic comedy Boy Meets Girl. She was the female lead opposite Sean Astin. She also appeared in the movies The Life Before This, Posers, and Snow Cake. She played Chanel in the gender and body-swap Freaky Friday-style movie It’s A Boy Girl Thing. She had a supporting role opposite fellow Canadian Kevin Zegers, and The O.C actress Samaire Armstrong.
Hampshire also appeared in the films Good Neighbours, Mother!, and the Robert Pattinson starring film Cosmopolis. She also appeared in episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark,? Ruby Gloom, Republic of Doyle, and Rookie Blue. She had a recurring role on the TV adaptation of 12 Monkeys for the first season and joined as a main cast member from Seasons 2 to 4. Chris Elliott (Roland Schitt)
Roland Schitt is the mayor of Schitt’s Creek. He was a bothersome character to all members of the Rose family until they kind of just accepted his antics. Elliott had a long history of comedic roles prior to Schitt’s Creek, including being part of the Scary Movie franchise. Elliott appeared in the comedies Groundhog Day, Cabin Boy, Kingpin, There’s Something About Mary, Osmosis Jones, and Sandy Wexler.
Elliott also appeared on Late Night with David Letterman from 1982 to 1988. He appeared on the series Get a Life, Saturday Night Live, The Naked Truth, Dilbert, Cursed, and How I Met Your Mother. He also appeared in episodes of Murphy Brown, Wings, The Nanny, The King of Queens, and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Dustin Milligan (Ted Mullens)
Dustin Milligan played Ted, Alexis’s main love interest for most of Schitt’s Creek. They seemed like opposites but that’s what made them work. They grew from being together. Ted is also Schitt’s Creek’s local veterinarian. Dustin Milligan was briefly a main character on the 90210 reboot. He left the series after one season. Milligan has appeared in episodes of Blindspot, Silicon Valley, The Dead Zone, Supernatural, and Dead Like Me.
Milligan also appeared in the movies Final Destination 3, The Butterfly Effect 2, The Messengers, In the Land of Women, and A Simple Favor. He has a recurring role on the Peacock original series Rutherford Falls. Milligan made an appearance on RuPaul’s celebrity drag race special series RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race. He appeared in the third episode alongside Matt Iseman and Alex Newell.

Noah Reid (Patrick Brewer)
Patrick was David’s main love interest from seasons 4 through 6. He started as David’s business partner but grew into much more. Noah Reid appeared on some Canadian teen shows in his younger days, including In a Heartbeat, Strange Days at Blake Holsey High, Naturally Sadie, and Degrassi: The Next Generation. He also appeared in episodes of Rookie Blue, Alphas, House of Lies, and the Annie Murphy-starring series The Plateaus. He was the lead character in the short-run series Kevin from Work.
Reid also appeared in the films Disappearance at Clifton Hill, Cardinals, People Hold On, and the Hulu film Buffaloed.

Sarah Levy (Twyla Sands)
Keeping it in the Levy family, Sarah Levy played Twyla on Schitt’s Creek. Twyla works at Schitt’s Creek’s local cafe. She started the show as a romantic rival to Alexis as they both cared about the same man, but then became a friend to all of the Rose family.
Sarah Levy appeared in the film Larry Crowne and on episodes of the series Baroness Von Sketch Show, United We Fall, and All Rise. Levy will have a main role in the upcoming SYFY series SurrealEstate, which premieres on July 16, 2021. She stars opposite Tim Rozon, who played Mutt Schitt on Schitt’s Creek. It’s one of the 2021 Summer TV Shows that sci-fi/fantasy fans may enjoy.

Jennifer Robertson (Jocelyn Schitt)
Jennifer Robertson played Roland’s cheery but definitely holding-it-all-together-by-a-string wife, Jocelyn. Robertson has appeared in the films Twitches, Relative Chaos, and Undercover Grandpa. She also appeared in the series Comedy Inc., Hannah Montana, and Degrassi: The Next Generation. She was a main character on the teen sitcom Wingin’ It. Robertson has a recurring role on the hit Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.
