Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Erika Jayne Responds To Claims That She’s Hiding Assets Amid Legal Case
Things are escalating quickly in the bankruptcy case facing Erika Jayne's soon-to-be ex-husband, Tom Girardi. As more details trickle out, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is becoming more and more implicated in the alleged embezzlement scheme, with accusations flying that she is even uncooperative and hiding monetary assets from the investigation. Erika Jayne is now hitting back at the claims in the latest development of the case.
Earlier this week, a motion was filed in the bankruptcy case concerning Erika Jayne, according to official documents procured by People. It accused the reality star of refusing to provide access to her own businesses as they might relate to the case. It also claims she's “hiding assets” by means of “large transfers” from Tom Girardi’s law firm to her companies and selling off her clothes and jewelry. They request that she turn over “key financial documents” and communications with her divorce attorney.
Erika Jayne's legal team responded to the accusations in other court records obtained by People. They state that Erika Jayne “has been and remains willing” to be cooperative in the legal case against Tom Girardi. However, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star also requested Ronald Richards’ position as special counsel to the trustee in the case be reconsidered due to “false and inflammatory” social media posts about Erika Jayne. It continued:
Ronald Richards has been posting about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Erika Jayne on his Twitter account concerning updates on the case. After the premiere of the ABC News special about her and husband, Richards wrote, “It was not flattering / in fact, sickening in many people's opinion. Hard to watch the pain.” He also appeared to publicly comment on the news of Erika Jayne’s lawyers dropping her from their council and then reversing the decision. He replied to a commentator that Erika Jayne “probably” managed to find a way to pay her lawyers, thus the reversal.
In a different motion obtained by People last week, it states Erika Jayne has “received over $20 million in loans” from Tom Girardi’s law firm to her businesses. Allegedly, those funds were intended for settlement funds relating to Girardi’s clients.
On the recent episode of Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Bravo fans heard Erika Jayne speak more in depth with her castmates for the first time about the legal and personal issues. She claims to have dropped Tom Girardi off at his law firm one day, then packed up her stuff and moved into a new 3-bedroom house before filing for divorce. She remained more hush-hush on the legal matters. At that time, Erika Jayne seemed to only be alluding to the bankruptcy case that wasn't public knowledge yet, implying that it was “coming” for her.
Just judging from Erika Jayne’s emotion when talking about things on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it's clear the situation is rather serious for her. Check back here for more updates as they become available.
