Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani finally got married on July 3, and there was an appropriate Voice reunion as they tied the knot. After all, they met thanks to their roles as coaches on The Voice, so it was only fitting that another Voice figure attend and even officiate the wedding. But despite what fans might have expected, it wasn't their fellow former Voice coach Adam Levine who turned up despite all his commentary and even jokingly trash-talking of the nuptials.
The Voice host Carson Daly officiated Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's wedding at Shelton's Oklahoma ranch, but according to Page Six, Adam Levine was in Miami with wife Behati Prinsloo as well as their two daughters. Levine is reportedly recording in Miami... and also doing yoga. Levine hasn't commented on the wedding at the time of writing, but his absence is interesting in light of some of what he has said about Stefani and Shelton tying the knot.
Adam Levine previously joked that he didn't support their wedding and intended to attend and object, and that he should just crash the wedding if he wasn't invited due to his comments on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Levine had a reputation for trolling Blake Shelton, who trolled Levine right back, and it was one of the hallmarks of The Voice until Levine's departure in 2019.
The trash talk about the wedding was definitely in good fun, and Adam Levine even said he'd perform at their wedding if they asked... after joking that they wouldn't be able to afford him. He has had nothing but good things to say about them when not poking fun at Blake Shelton, so he wouldn't have been out of place at their wedding.
It should be interesting to see if Adam Levine or Blake Shelton (or Gwen Stefani, for that matter) comment on his absence, and if it's ever revealed whether or not he was invited. Based on the pictures that Stefani has posted from the wedding, I think it's safe to say that the event was a hit for the happy couple even with Levine in Miami. Take a look:
Honestly, I'd love if we could get some fun commentary from Adam Levine about the pictures. Gwen Stefani (now blonde again) went for a unique look for the wedding, with a nontraditional short-in-the-front dress and boots, although still looking gorgeous in white, and I can't imagine that Levine would have anything negative to say about her. As for Blake Shelton... well, if their history is any indication, Levine could come up with something entertaining to say to his former Voice nemesis!
Whether or not Adam Levine ever says anything about the nuptials remains to be seen, but a big congratulations to Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton for tying the knot, despite their wedding plans (like many others') being impacted by COVID!
