After Some Fans Questioned Topless Pic, Britney Spears Had A Blunt Response For The 'Haters'
There is pretty much nothing that Britney Spears does or says which won't be under intense public scrutiny. While this has been true for over two decades now, it's become even more evident recently, as the truth about Spears' feelings regarding her 13-year conservatorship, and the treatment she's gotten over the years from the media have been even larger topics of conversation. Now, the singer has responded to her "haters" after some fans questioned a topless post.
Anyone who's been paying attention to the very vocal Free Britney movement for the past couple of years will know that fans of Britney Spears are completely taken with her social media, and tend to look at many of the troubled pop star's posts as secret messages for help or other notices hidden in plain sight. Well, Spears recently posted a topless photo to Instagram (where her back was facing the camera), and when eagle-eyed fans noticed that her neck tattoo was missing, began to question whether or not it was actually a photo of the singer.
Spears has now responded to those comments, and it seems she has no time for those who doubted her post:
If you took an opportunity to scroll through the comments, you will likely see that there are still many people who don't believe that Britney Spears is behind either the original topless post or this rebuttal, and you wouldn't have to go very far down in the comments to notice this trend. Part of the problem, of course, is the fact that those of us on the outside of her conservatorship can never quite tell who's in charge of what with regards to Spears' life.
While those in the Free Britney fanbase have long thought that many of her odd posts were coded messages, there are still others who believe that her social media accounts aren't controlled by her at all, and that she has no or little say in what goes public there. While a recent report by The New Yorker said that her posts can be censored if they're deemed "too sensitive" or include any overt talk about her conservatorship, her social media manager, Cassie Petrey, came out in early February and attempted to debunk rumors that Spears doesn't have full control over what gets posted.
People are especially confused by Spears' situation now that we know her thoughts about being under that conservatorship, and her father's control of most of it, for so long. In late June, the embattled singer finally spoke publicly and at length about what she says she's endured over the past 13 years, and compared it to "sex trafficking," along with making several other shocking reveals about the details of her life, and how little control she supposedly has over everything from her work life to decisions about marrying and birth control.
For many, the question as to whether or not Britney Spears was pictured in the original photo will probably remain. The tattoo which is missing from the photo was just given the spotlight in June by Spears in another photo post, where she noted that it's her favorite of her nine tattoos, saying:

As one comment on Spears' "kiss my ass haters" post said, if it's really her favorite tattoo, and she just made sure that everyone could see it, why would she now cover it? Basically, we may never know the full extent of what's really going on with Britney Spears, her conservatorship and her social media posts, but we all hope things turn out for the best for her sooner rather than later.
