Bill Cosby’s Wife Allegedly Spotted Without Wedding Ring After Prison Release, Family Rep Has An Explanation
Bill Cosby had been making headlines over the past several years due to the various sexual assault allegations he was facing as well as his eventual conviction for aggravated indecent assault in 2018. But now, the actor and comedian finds himself back at the center of the news, as his conviction was vacated last month, with his release occurring on the same day. During this time, it seems Cosby has a fair amount of support from family and colleagues. However, his wife, Camille Cosby, became a topic of conversation when she was allegedly spotted without her wedding ring just recently. With this, a family representative has stepped in to provide an explanation.
The 84-year-old Bill Cosby and 77-year-old Camille have been married for well over 50 years. So when Mrs. Cosby was reportedly spotted in New York sans ring this past Friday, many naturally began to speculate as to what it meant for the state of her marriage following her husband’s release. But in a statement, family rep Andrew Wyatt seemed to shrug off the notion that the Cosbys are having marital problems:
One would think that two spouses, especially two who have been married for so long, would keep their rings on them at all times. However, it isn’t unheard of for certain married couples to not sport the matrimonial jewelry.
While speaking with Radar, Andrew Wyatt alleged that the recent photos of Camille Cosby and the subsequent speculation were merely attempts by the media to scrutinize the couple. He also discussed Cosby’s support for her husband during the legal proceedings and conviction:
Bill Cosby’s ten-year prison sentence was overturned after Pennsylvania’s highest court found that Cosby made an agreement with a previous prosecutor that prevented him from being charged in this case. Cosby’s release ignited a variety of responses both in favor of and against the development. The Cosby Show’s Phylicia Rashad reacted to the news with a celebratory post, which led to a fair amount of backlash. She later penned a letter in which she apologized for her remarks.
In the aftermath of his release, it’s fair to assume that Bill Cosby and his family will continue to receive attention, especially since news outlets are reportedly mulling whether to give him air time. Only time will tell how things continue to develop for the entertainer and his family.
