It’s only been just over a month since Netflix cancelled superhero series Jupiter’s Legacy in favor of expanding the universe in other ways, and it looks like the cast is starting to move on. Leslie Bibb, who portrayed Grace Kennedy-Sampson a.k.a. Lady Liberty, is moving to a different streaming service for a new role.

Leslie Bibb has been cast in the second season of the HBO Max series Love Life, according to Deadline. She joins True Detective’s John Earl Jelks and Succession’s Arian Moayed. It was also announced that Punkie Johnson from Saturday Night Live is set to star in the upcoming season of the anthology series, opposite Jessica Williams, Chris Powell and William Jackson Harper. Anna Kedrick led the series for its first season as Darby Carter, who searched for love throughout her 20s and 30s.

Season 2 of Love Life will follow William Jackson Harper as Marcus Watkins after he comes out of a long relationship with the woman whom he thought was going to be his forever. Similar to Darby’s story, Marcus will be searching high and low for “the one” after losing what he thought was his. While Anna Kendrick is no longer starring in the series as it’s following a different character, she is staying on to executive produce alongside Harper, Paul Feig and Dan Magnante. Sam Boyd, Bridget Bedard and Rachelle Williams are serving as co-showruners and executive producers.

The Jupiter’s Legacy actress joins the series as twice-divorced mother of two Becca Evans. She and Marcus enter a purely sexual relationship but it soon gets a little more complicated. Currently there is no word on when Love Life Season 2 will premiere on HBO Max. It’s been a year since Season 1 ended, so, hopefully, it will be soon. However, the second season is currently in production in New York, and it’s reported that cast members from the first season, including Anna Kendrick, Zoë Chao, Peter Vack, Sasha Compére and Nick Thune will appear in the upcoming season. There is no telling in what capacity they will appear, but it will be nice to see them once again.

Even though Jupiter’s Legacy set up a second season, Netflix cancelled the series just weeks after it premiered. A few different factors were at play in the cancellation, but that doesn’t mean that it hurt any less. Shortly after the sudden axing, star Josh Duhamel spoke to CinemaBlend about the cancellation and expressed his disappointment. And, while Jupiter’s Legacy’s second season is not happening, there’s still hope that Leslie Bibb, Duhamel and other stars will appear in a different series that will be part of the expanding universe, even if that’s a ways away.
