The Big Brother Houseguests decided to cut the chaos this week and sent farmer Brandon "Frenchie" French packing with no love lost. The house, in theory, may be much calmer with him gone, though as the classic saying in this wild game goes, "expect the unexpected."
The truth of the matter is that this house could very well be thrown into chaos once again with the right Head of Household win, and a "safe week" is never guaranteed for any Houseguest in Big Brother. With that being said, here's who won the HOH in Week 3 and how their reign may impact the house.
Xavier Prather Won The Week 3 Head Of Household
Despite the rumors in the house that Week 3 would be the dreaded endurance wall competition, Houseguests were greeted by Celebrity Big Brother alumnus Tom Green, who led them in a fun trivia competition. It was a thrilling back and forth between the house, but in the end, Xavier Prather had a sharper memory than the rest and secured the Week 3 Head of Household.
How Xavier Prather May Run Their Head Of Household
The chatter around the house was that Brent Champagne was the easy target this week. Xavier Prather was a part of those conversations, but unlike many in the house, he played his thoughts and feelings close to the chest. With that said, Xavier is a part of The Cookout as well as an alliance between the Queens and Kings, so he doesn't have a lot of nomination choices on the table. Brent is one of the few people he could nominate without betraying the trust of his alliances, so that's the most obvious choice.
Brent also doesn't have a chance to play in the Wildcard Competition, though host Julie Chen Moonves teased there is more to the week that could throw a wrench in whatever Xavier has planned. The twist is tied to the Wildcard Competition and is said to result in a decision that could cause dissent amongst the teams and affect nomination choices. This could mean Xavier's choices for nomination could change completely, which would suck for him but help Brent out greatly at this point. Of course, we can only wait and see what happens.
What will be interesting to watch this week is whether or not Xavier is willing to be a passive Head of Household, or he'll make a move that advances his position in the house in a meaningful way. From my perspective, Xavier is in a middling position in both alliances he's currently a part of, and for now, that's okay. There's safety in the early game not looking like a threat, and that's hard for Xavier now that he, the most muscular man in the house, has won a mental trivia competition. People are going to notice that, so perhaps going with the flow and sticking to the plan will keep any targets off him a little while longer.
