It’s been a few days now since The Haves and the Have Nots aired its Season 8 and series finale on OWN, marking just under 200 episodes for the longtime show. Now that the dust has settled a little bit and we've talked out all that's happened, I think it’s high time to talk about Tyler Perry’s message regarding the show ending and his experience with OWN ahead of the upcoming projects he has coming up. The prolific and longtime showrunner, writer, and general jack-of-all-trades took to social media to thank the fans for watching, talk the HAHN milestones and reveal more about how the series changed the lives of its cast and crew. (It's spoiler-free so don't fret if you aren't caught up!)

Tyler Perry is the type of person who isn't afraid to get sentimental. He’s also not shy about sharing feelings regarding growing his business, which includes a slew of shows shot at his own Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Namely, he talked a bit about the OG cast coming together and building lives where The Haves and the Have Nots filmed, creating a real family over a number of years on the show.

From the time they auditioned to their faces coming in, wondering if this was going to work, wondering if these dreams were going to come true for them. To the cast members who met other cast members, fell in love, now started life and had kids. To all of them came in there, bought houses and cars, their whole lives changed. I’m just grateful to you for all the hard work. My heart goes out to all of you because we were such a family on this show. A lot of people say that, but we know that's true.

Tyler Perry is always one for eloquence, and in his goodbye message to OWN’s The Haves and the Have Nots he also thanked a slew of people, noting those involved with getting him into the world of television drama with the series as well as speaking to the fans:

Thank you to Oprah, thank you to David Zaslav, thank you to Discovery, Tina Perry, Erik over there who’s no longer there, but thank you for all of the years of support we had over there. I know you’ve gone on to do greater things. Thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate you. What a memory, what a run, what a blessing, what a gift. That was the foundation for us to start so much. That was my first television drama; I had so much to learn. Thank you to the audience. God bless you.

The entire video is set to moody music to really hit the right tone, so if you want to see Tyler Perry’s comments from his own mouth, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the show, be sure to check out the full video. It also touches on topics including his other shows The Oval and House of Payne etc. Finally, Perry also mentions to the fans who will be missing the show that he's "sorry" it got cancelled but he really feels the show ended on a high note.

Tyler Perry wasn’t the only person related to the OWN series to post about the finale. Series lead Tika Sumpter also shared several fun looks from the series wrapping to her own Instagram, including the post below.

Tyler Perry referred to The Haves and the Have Nots finale as “crazy good,” and if you haven’t watched it already, it’s absolutely attracting notice for being completely bonkers. No spoilers here, though, you’ll have to check it out for yourself. Or stick around, because Tyler Perry is bringing Madea back on Netflix, next.
