Disney+'s Loki series really opened up the MCU with its talk of the multiverse and the possibility of variants, and with those reveals comes a lot of rabbit holes Marvel fans can dive down. For this Marvel fan, this meant wondering if there were universes for the Marvel shows that were de-canonized, or if there are variants of those heroes that already exist somewhere within the MCU.
It's a theory that Marvel fans have speculated far beyond Loki, as rumors continually swirl that Charlie Cox may reprise his role as Daredevil for Spider-Man: No Way Home. While we can only speculate on that, let's run down the list of Marvel television characters we'd love to see actors and actresses reprise for a re-introduction within the MCU.
Daredevil
It's no secret that Charlie Cox's Daredevil series was one of the most popular Marvel shows prior to its cancellation due to the split between Marvel and Netflix. That series is part of the reason that folks are so jazzed about the idea of Charlie Cox returning as the hero, and I'd wager there's more than a few who'd like to see a Season 4 announcement for Daredevil should that happen. Personally, I think we should just wait for the rumored return, and maybe see if there are any plans for the character in the MCU once he arrives.
Legion
I'm sure Dan Stevens' David Haller (a.k.a. Legion) wouldn't be a character to return to the MCU on a lot of people's lists, but he's absolutely toward the top of mine. Noah Hawley's FX series Legion really showed just how much potential a series with Charles Xavier's troubled son had, and the series really showed us a side of Marvel telepaths we'd never seen previously. I cannot stress enough how much I'd love to see Stevens back to further explore the character, even if it's a different version of Haller. Honestly, that would jive better with the ending of the series, but I won't spoil the details for those who need to watch.
Jessica Jones
Charlie Cox's Daredevil may have gotten a bulk of the shine out of Netflix's Marvel heroes, but Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones deserves a lot of credit too. Marvel has yet to give us a character as messy but also as easy to root for as Jessica Jones because I think we all just wanted the best for her. It'd be great to investigate some of the lesser crimes most MCU heroes don't have time for, which is to say just bring back the Jessica Jones fans loved!
Black Bolt
Marvel's Inhumans is widely regarded as one of the brand's biggest missteps since the launch of the MCU, which is a real shame because the Inhumans have been out of the picture since the 2017 series, other than some references on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Plus, I loved the casting of Anson Mount as Black Bolt, and wish we could've seen the strong and silent (mostly out of necessity) character come face to face with bigger Marvel heroes. After all, Black Bolt is a prominent character in Marvel comics, so it's a unfortunate to think we may never see him or the rest of the Inhumans in the mix eventually.
Luke Cage
Speaking from a show standpoint, I can't say Luke Cage is the better series for me compared to Daredevil and Jessica Jones. What I can say is that Mike Colter was one of the most perfect castings Marvel's done for a character in some time, and I would love to see his Luke Cage come into the MCU with a chance to tell new stories. Not sure exactly what those stories would be, though considering I didn't include Danny Rand on this list... perhaps a Heroes For Hire series?
Daisy Johnson/Quake
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started out closely tied to the MCU, but that changed as the series continued and diverged farther and farther from the main MCU action. After Loki seemingly officially decanonized the series, fans may have lost hope that Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Quake, will ever be a part of the MCU proper. With that said, an infinite amount of timelines and multiverses would almost have to confirm there's a reality in which Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. happened, so perhaps fans should continue to keep hope this awesome character could someday return.
Kilgrave
Jessica Jones is a great series because of its title heroine, but David Tennant's Kilgrave was undoubtedly the key character that put her on the map. Tennant gave a fantastically frightening performance. Seeing as variants are a thing, he could feasibly make an appearance in the MCU, as awful as that would be for another timeline or multiverse's Jessica Jones. If there are any plans to bring Kilgrave into the MCU, I would be very disappointed if Tennant wasn't at least asked to reprise the role.
Kingpin/Wilson Fisk
While we're on the subject of iconic Netflix Marvel villains, I'd regret if I didn't bring up the phenomenal performance of Vincent D'Onofrio. Not only was his performance something we'd hadn't seen in past portrayals of Kingpin, but D'Onofrio has also been such a cheerleader of any and all talk to bring the show back. If I were to see Charlie Cox is in the MCU, I would absolutely ask if D'Onofrio is also involved. It just wouldn't be the same seeing Cox's Daredevil square off against anyone else!
Cloak And Dagger
Okay, technically this is two characters jammed into one entry, but there's really no point in bringing just Cloak or just Dagger over to the MCU. The heroes had a quality run on Freeform, and the show even started to connect the dots between it and other Marvel television shows but was cancelled when Marvel made its decision to move on from that universe. Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph barely got a chance to flesh out their respective characters, so it'd be great to see them both reprise the roles should the two ever appear in the MCU.
Hopefully, with the multiverse and timelines and variants all the buzz in the MCU, we may see these characters sooner than later. Until then, we can only continually track what's happening with the the MCU, such as Deadpool's semi-arrival within the timeline in a weird promotional video.
