ABC’s The Rookie is currently filming its fourth season, and star Nathan Fillion is asking all the important questions. Ahead of shooting a new episode of the cop procedural, the actor saw his wardrobe, and got a little curious about an interesting note that was left on it.
Nathan Fillion shared part of his wardrobe from a Season 4 episode of The Rookie on Instagram. While there wasn’t too much to share about the wardrobe itself, Fillion noticed a little note that said “To be fire proofed [sic].” Concerned for his safety, he wondered what that meant and why he actually needs to be fireproof:
It’s unknown what episode of The Rookie is currently being filmed, but once more information starts come out about Season 4 it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out. Nathan Fillion’s John Nolan has been through more than enough in the show’s first three seasons, so to find out that he may or may not be rolling around in fire in the fourth makes you wonder just what he could be up to, and why exactly he needs to be fireproofed.
In May, following The Rookie’s Season 3 finale, showrunner Alexi Hawley discussed what Nolan’s life could look like in Season 4. Since Nolan has graduated into being a P2, he has much more freedom to do solo patrols. And following Lopez’s kidnapping at her own wedding, Nolan and the rest of the police department will likely be splitting up to bring the detective home safely. Perhaps this could be the reason why the wardrobe needs to be fireproofed?
Whatever happens with Nolan, hopefully Nathan Fillion will get his questions answered. His caption in the Instagram post jokingly includes a hashtag for “last he ever posted,” and as of now, he hasn’t posted anything since. It could just be that he had a long day on set, but all jokes aside, Season 4 seems like it will be a big one already, even without knowing much to the storylines.
It’s going to be interesting to see just why John Nolan’s wardrobe has to be fireproofed, and whether or not any other character will have to go through the same thing. Nathan Fillion seems to be in good spirits despite finding out he might get burnt to a crisp, but I guess that’s what it takes to be an actor on a network TV show.
