Tarek El Moussa Explained Why He And Heather Rae Young Threw Out Months Of Wedding Planning To Start Over
Even though the past year and a half has been super rough for all of us, there are still things for lots of us to celebrate. For Flip or Flop's Tarek El Moussa (who probably had some apologizing to do to his ex, Christina Haack, recently) and Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young, one of those things has been their July 2020 engagement and their upcoming wedding. But, it sounds like the planning of those nuptials wasn't quite going as it should, and now El Moussa has explained why he and Young threw out the old plans to start over.
Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young began dating in 2019, and El Moussa popped the all important question on July 25, 2020. As with most couples eager to walk down the aisle, they likely started making preparations shortly after announcing their intention to marry. But, according to a new Instagram post from El Moussa, things weren't going well, so he and Young changed course. El Moussa said that, when they first started planning, he saw that something wasn't right with Young, and said, in part:
While neither El Moussa nor Heather Rae Young specified what their plans had been for their big day, Young's own Instagram post about the change did note that she was getting "stressed" with the planning, so they "decided to completely change everything" after "rethinking" how things were progressing. The duo hired a new wedding planner, revised all of their plans, and now "couldn’t be happier" with how their wedding is set to go down.
Obviously, making wedding plans is a big deal for many couples, as a lot of people feel that having the ceremony and reception set up in the right way for them helps to get the marriage off on the right foot. Plus, as both Heather Rae Young and Tarek El Moussa said in their posts, they want to make sure that the day is a big celebration of the life they've begun building together, and to be able to share that with the people closest to them.
If you've ever seen a bride or groom go through their wedding day with details that have really been decided on by a wedding planner or overly-interested third party, you'll probably know that it does the opposite of easing any wedding / married life jitters. So, even though it was a bold step to take after so many plans had been made, it was clearly the right one for El Moussa and Young.
The couple hasn't said when their new wedding day will be, but with them going over all of the details this week, it's possible it could happen by the end of the year. Either way, I'm sure when Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae "Yes sir, Mr. El Moussa" Young have tied the knot, that they'll let fans know.
