Over a year since The CW’s flagship series Arrow came to an end, Stephen Amell is getting ready for his next big role. He’s trading in his bow and arrow for wrestling in the new Starz series Heels, and he’s getting fans pumped for the impending premiere by showing off his guns on social media.

Stephen Amell, known to many as Arrow's Oliver Queen, shared a photo on Instagram ahead of the premiere of his new wrestling show Heels. The photo includes Amell showing off his muscles, with the caption reminding fans to tune into the premiere, which is happening this weekend on Starz.

It’s not so surprising to see just how buff the Arrow alum really is, considering all of the training he’s had to put in for both the CW series and Heels (just think of all the salmon ladders he's crushed over the years). It seems like Heels is really going to show off the work Stephen Amell has been putting in at the gym. A first look at the series was released earlier this year and it included Amell and Alexander Ludwig looking completely buff, in all their sweaty gloriousness. While physically training for a show like Heels is -- I'm guessing -- more demanding in some ways than Arrow, Amell looks to be doing just fine.

Amell celebrated the first season of Heels wrapping back in April, and although he did suffer an injury while on set, he has been more than excited for fans to see the final product. First reviews of the wresting series came in last week, including from CinemaBlend, with most of them being fairly positive and praising the series. However like most shows, there were some criticisms directed at Heels, but most gave the show a big thumbs up.

With Heels premiering on Starz over the weekend, it will be interesting to see who tunes in. It looks like any fan can watch it and they don’t have to be a fan of wrestling or even know a ton about the sport. This will mark Stephen Amell’s first big series since Arrow came to an end and while he has done other projects besides Arrow, it’ll be nice to see him star in something totally different than the CW superhero series. Hopefully, Heels will last a long time on Starz, which also means we'll be seeing more of Amell’s guns in the future.

Heels has been gaining interest from the public over the last few months now, especially after the first trailer dropped. And besides Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig, the series stars Allison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund and Chris Bauer. To have a show gaining traction before it even premieres says a lot, so it’s likely it will be just as successful as everyone is making it out to be.
