How Drake Is Allegedly Being Tied To Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Divorce Drama
Speculation has run rampant concerning the exact relationship status of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West these days. Technically, their divorce is still being finalized, but the two have been seen coordinating their outfits together quite a lot in the last month amidst the rollout of West’s three Donda album listening parties. The emotional lyrics in the album and Kardashian’s public support lead many to wonder if they're back together. However, there's a third party allegedly connected to the question surrounding the couple’s relationship, and his name is Drake.
When Kim Kardashian wore a wedding gown for a faux ceremony at the latest Donda listening party, some interpreted it as Kimye conveying that their relationship might be moving forward in a positive direction. Some have even reported that Kardashian may even withdraw her divorce petition. But according to sources for Page Six, the dramatic wedding gown move was allegedly a bid to steal Drake’s shine for his own upcoming album. One source said:
Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album has been widely anticipated since January and is supposed to drop in a few days. Likewise, fans have been waiting on Kanye West's Donda album, which was first titled God’s Country, since last year. (FYI, we're all still looking out for Kendrick Lamar’s mysterious "oklama" project, too.) So the theory is that West recruited Kim Kardashian – who is known for promoting her own businesses through tantalizing “performances” – to help boost his album over Drake's.
In fact, Kanye West and Drake's alleged battle for album sales has supposedly turned into an all-out rap beef. Drake was recently featured on Trippie Redd’s new song “Betrayal,” wherein he says, “Ye ain't changing shit for me.” West allegedly responded to the diss in a since-deleted screengrab of a rapper group chat (via NME), which included Drake's old nemesis Pusha T, and promised that Drake “will never recover.”
Rapper beefs are notorious in the genre’s history. But using one’s thought-to-be ex-wife in the onslaught is a new tactic if I’ve ever heard one. Yet Kanye West has reportedly been telling other rappers for some time that he and Kim Kardashian are really back together. The public sightings of the two have helped, at least, give pause to the idea that their divorce is still going ahead. Nevertheless, another source for Page Six said:
In the world of rappers and reality TV stars, who often thrive off clout and drama, the scenario that seems to be unfolding isn't too outlandish. Kanye West famously loves to say and do whatever he wants to get his point across. Then again, so does Drake… Therefore, it could go either the Pusha T way or the Meek Mill way for West.
The Donda was officially released to streaming platforms today.
