AMC Lines Up Unscripted Programming For Thursday Night Block And Adds New Series
AMC is mostly known for its Sunday night programming, but the network would like to make Thursday a big night on the schedule, as well. While AMC's Sunday focuses on scripted programming, AMC’s brand new Thursday night schedule will feature different unscripted endeavors. After the schedule premieres, however, it looks like it will take a little time to solidify.
The new night will feature some old unscripted favorites, as well as some newer fodder. Originally, the lineup will include episodes of Comic Book Men, Freakshow, and Immortalized. Later in 2013, The Pitch and Small Town Security’s second seasons will jump into the schedule. According to Deadline, a new series, tentatively titled Road Show, will also pop into the Thursday schedule at some point. I’m assuming that eventually a more regular schedule will be worked out. Regardless, we still have a while to wait to determine whether or not Thursday is a viable night for programming on AMC. The programming schedule won’t kick off until February 14.
In the interim, if you are excited about a full night of unscripted television, AMC also has another new unscripted series on the roster. Called Owner’s Manual, the new program will follow two dudes with two different philosophies when it comes to learning about using new machinery. The series will star Extreme Makeover’s Ed Sanders and Hammer Heads’ Marcus Hunt and will be executive produced by Jonathan Koch, Jerry McNutt, Steve Michaels, and Alex Piper. Eight half-hour episodes are currently slated to be produced to air in 2013.
