Adam Levine Confirms He'll Appear In American Horror Story Next Season
Singer-turned-actor: it’s not such an unusual occurrence. And apparently, the next singer to give acting a try is going to be Adam Levine of Maroon 5. Levine has confirmed that he will be appearing in a recurring role on the second season of American Horror Story. Or at least, he thinks so. Actually, he still seems a little confused.
Word got out that The Voice coach Levine was in talks for a role a couple of weeks ago, and although there’s been nothing announced, Levine told Ryan Seacrest it’s a go E! reports. Or at least that’s what they got out of Levine’s comments on the acting gig, which were at first quite certain, and then backpedalled a little:
The Ryan in question would be Ryan Murphy, AHS co-creator who is well known for keeping his secrets well when it comes to the future of the show. So perhaps Levine’s hesitance was more about not wanting to give anything away and less about any uncertainty in his casting. Word is he is set to appear as half of a couple referred to as "The Lovers." There aren’t really many details yet on Season 2 – again, there’s Ryan Murphy keeping it hush-hush, but we know a number of stars will be returning, including Jessica Lange and several others. Rumor has it the next season will involve a mental institution.
As for the question of Levine’s acting chops, he says he told Murphy he wasn’t sure he knew what he was doing, but that Murphy “didn’t seem to really care.” He added “ I think I’m going to be kind of playing myself.” What that means I’m not sure, except that role isn’t expected to be too much of a stretch for the first-time actor. I guess we’ll find out.
