Captain America: Civil War is finally within reach, and in preparation for the event blockbuster film of the year, everybody is picking sides between Team Cap and Team Iron Man. It’s all about the fights! While almost every hero in the movies will be punching each other, there’s a corner of the MCU that isn’t getting directly involved: the TV side. While we can only speculate how Civil War will affect Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we won’t be seeing any of the TV characters throwing down with the heroes. That won’t stop us from imagining it though.
While on the red carpet for the Captain America: Civil War premiere, ComicBook.com spoke with Ming-Na Wen, who plays super spy Melinda May, and asked her who what hero May could take down.
I don't know, everyone wants to see girl-on-girl fight, you know, with me and Scarlett Johansson's character, Natasha Romanoff. I'm up for that!
That’s just about the only Avenger Agent May could ever hope to beat in a fight. It’s not like May can go toe to toe with Thor in a fistfight (though now I kind of want to see that happen). Black Widow and May have very similar skill sets. Both are top spies trained in combat and espionage, and May is usually the one who gets the most fight scenes on the show. A fight between them could be pretty even, but I’d put my money on Black Widow; she’s fought robots and aliens, so one woman probably isn’t a challenge.
While this is all cool speculation, it’s likely we’ll never get to see something like this happen. As much as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is affected by the films, it’s not a two-way street (the Avengers still don’t know that Coulson is alive). At the end of the day, the movie side and the TV side are controlled by different people, so organizing a crossover of sorts is harder than it sounds. The last major movie character to appear on the show was Nick Fury back in Season One, though smaller side characters like Lady Sif from Thor have shown up.

If there’s anyone I want to see fight the Avengers it would be Chloe Bennet’s Daisy Johnson. Seeing her fight someone like Captain America with her quake powers would be cool match up. And then maybe they fall in love. That would be my ideal situation.
