Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Episode 13 Preview Teases Stan Lee And A Series-Changing Final Act

Remember that thing I said about not wanting to know much about Stan Lee’s guest appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. until it happened? Well, ABC kind of blew that out of the water with the preview for Episode 13, which — if you didn’t notice by the above preview — isn’t airing until February 4. Technically, Stan Lee’s visit to S.H.I.E.L.D. is a guest appearance, which may mean he’ll be doing a bit more than saying one line and moving along. If that’s not the case, I’ll be disappointed that the above preview gave us a glimpse of him ahead of the episode. Of course, I can’t fault ABC for wanting to promote that appearance to encourage people to tune in.
Here’s a closer look at Lee with two very pretty women…
Do you think Lee’s character ties into the reason the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is going undercover? Or is he just someone who happens to be on the train?
And speaking of undercover, how adorable does Simmons look as Coulson’s “daughter”?
Moving on to some of the more exciting glimpses in the trailer, what the heck was going on with May…
At first I thought she glowed for a minute, but on second look, between the glasses and the light, I think maybe something flashed in front of her. Either way, she looked really cool dropping down like that.
Also cool, Ward and his guns…

But the teaser also promises a “series-changing final act.” Are they messing with us or is someone going to die? Please don’t let it be Fitz or Simmons…
ABC hasn’t posted any photos or synopsis for the episode, but with weeks to go before Episode 13 airs, there’s time for that. In the meantime, you can read our breakdown of last night’s “Seeds” episode here.
In other superhero news (of the DC variety this time around), while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is bound for a mini-hiatus for the next couple of weeks, Arrow is back tonight!

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
