Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 Renewal Ordered By ABC
Life as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D can be characterized by nothing but stress and anxiety at times, as they have to deal with the thankless job of battling Inhumans, Hydra agents, and myriad other threats within the Marvel universe. It’s a tough job, but audiences seem to love it. As a result, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D just got some great news regarding its future, as Season 4 is a go.
A new announcement from Marvel reports that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has been renewed for a fourth season at ABC. The series started off on somewhat shaky ground during Season 1, but has gained a great deal of momentum over the last couple of years. As a result of the show’s increasing popularity, Marvel has seen fit to guarantee that we will see Agent Phil Coulson and his team stick around to battle evil at least through 2017.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has managed to carve out a nice little niche for itself among Marvel’s numerous properties. Although it maintains a tenuous (at best) connection to the film continuity, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has done the Marvel Cinematic Universe a great service by introducing certain key elements such as The Inhumans and the Secret Warriors. The announcement for the next season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. shed little to no light on any plot details, but as fans of the series already know, Agent Coulson and his team continue to deal with the increasing number of Inhumans around the world in addition to Grant Ward's evolution into Hive.
While it’s currently all sunshine and rainbows for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Marvel's other property at ABC hasn’t exactly experienced the same sort of luck. Agent Carter has struggled to maintain ratings for its second season in recent weeks, and as a result, the network has yet to order a renewal. This doesn’t exactly mean that Peggy Carter’s solo series has reached the end of the line, but as of now its future remains shaky at best.
We will keep you informed regarding all of the latest and greatest Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. news as it becomes available to us. The series will return to ABC for its midseason premiere this coming Tuesday, March 8, at 9 p.m. EST to continue its third season.
