Alicia Silverstone has made some wise career choices in her day - Clueless, the Aerosmith videos, Batman and Robin, and (my personal favorite) Blast from the Past. And, she’s made some bad ones - Scooby Doo 2, and The Crush (which was horrible, even though my beloved Wesley from The Princess Bride was the “crush” in the title.)
She had a new show recently, Miss Match, and was supposed to be a love interest for Ted in HIMYM before Britney signed on. Because I like Miss Silverstone, I was disappointed that her new show didn’t take off, but I can’t complain because I never watched it.
The good news to this story is that Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on a brand new pilot for the lovely lady. A new pilot Bad Mother's Handbook is in the works for ABC. She will be playing a 32-year old mom with a 16 year old daughter who also has to care for her 48 year old mother. I may not be a math whiz, but it seems to me that the gap between grandma and mom is 16 years, and the gap between mom and daughter is 16 years, which seems to imply that the daughter should be getting knocked up rather soon…
