In what may prove to be a fun summer competition series, G4 and NBC have America Ninja Warrior set to premiere next month. Based on a Japanese show called Sasuke, the series will have people attempting to complete an obstacle course in the hopes of winning a cash prize and the title of American Ninja Warrior.?

Of course, the terms “ninja” and “warrior” are probably meant to be taken loosely here. The series, which premieres Sunday, May 20 (9:00 p.m.) on G4, and Monday, May 21 (9:00 p.m.) on NBC, will have people competing in various stages of the competition for a chance at $500k and the title. Set to host are Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Mosely and Comedian Matt Iseman, with Angela Sun serving as the sideline reporter.

School teachers, fireman, police officers and other everyday heroes will turn themselves into acrobatic athletes on this arduous obstacle course. Regional qualifying competitions in Los Angeles, Dallas and Miami will determine the finalists who will ultimately have a shot at a $500,000 cash prize and the chance to win the coveted "American Ninja Warrior" title. The national finals will culminate in Las Vegas with the top 100 competitors trying their hand at the punishing four-stage obstacle course fashioned after the original Mount Midoriyama in Japan.

You’ll get a better idea of what these competitors will be facing in series.

By the above video, it's safe to say this competition will be aimed at people who are especially strong and coordinated. Weak armed people need not apply... or risk getting wet.
