Anna Nicole Smith Lifetime Movie First Look Photo Shows Agnes Bruckner In Character

Lifetime has a number of biopics in the works, including a TV movie based on the Jodi Arias murder trial and another that tells the tale of Bonnie and Clyde. And, as the photo above reminds us, a TV movie about Anna Nicole Smith.
USA Today shared the first look photo above, which reveals actor Agnes Bruckner looking glamorous in the bombshell role for Anna Nicole. The TV movie, which will chronicle the rise and fall of the Playboy playmate is set to premiere on Lifetime on June 29. Bruckner plays the title character, Anna Nicole Smith, the modern and actress who died of a prescription drug overdose at the age of 39 in 2007.
The site also shared the photo below, which shows Bruckner dripping with diamonds as Smith, and flashing a showy grin and a fair amount of cleavage in that red top (or dress - it's hard to tell).
Bruckner's no stranger to Lifetime or TV roles in general. Among her credits are The Craigslist Killer, Private Practice, Covert Affairs, and going back a bit further, 24 (Day 3) and Alias. In Anna Nicole, she's joined by Martin Landau, Virginia Madsen, Adam Goldberg and Cary Elwes. The TV movie is being executive produced by Craig Zadan and will tell the story of Vickie Lynn Hogan, who went on to make a name for herself as Anna Nicole Smith, earning the title of Playmate of the Year in 1993 and later inheriting a large amount of money from her much-older husband, who died about a year after they were married. The inheritance (and the court battles that ensued) is just part of Smith's story, which ended in tragedy five years ago when a lethal combination of pills ended her life.
There's no shortage of drama in Smith's story, which makes it a prime fit for a Lifetime movie. The movie will air June 29, a week after the Jodi Arias movie is set to debut on the cable channel.
