Anna Nicole Star Agnes Bruckner Cast In A&E's Occult
Just last week we got a look at Agnes Bruckner in costume for the starring role in Lifetime's Anna Nicole Smith movie, and it looks like we may be seeing even more of the actor, as she's set to co-star in James Wong's A&E pilot Occult, which is being produced by Michael Bay.
Deadline reports that Bruckner will join previously cast Josh Lucas and Lynn Collins in Occult. The pilot is said to draw parallels to The X-Files and Fringe. It follows Lucas' character Dolan, an FBI agent who is back on the job after taking a leave of absence following some kind of breakdown which happened when he was investigating his wife's disappearance. Freshly returned to work, he's paired up with Collins' Noa Blair, an agent who has her own history of issues and who specializes in the occult. The duo are set up to work on cases in "the newly formed occult crimes task force." Bruckner has been cast in the role of Lucy, "an attractive, edgy young soul caught up in the occult.
And by "caught up," they apparently mean resurrected from the dead. Bruckner's character wakes up on the autopsy table in a state of possession, "hell-bent on joining her fellow cultists." Sounds creepy. But I bet she looks beautiful even if she's a bit pale and covered in autopsy stitches. The project is set up over at A&E, which is an A+E network, as is the case for Lifetime, which is where Bruckner will star as Anna Nicole Smith in the upcoming made-for-TV biopic. In addition to Anna Nicole, Bruckner's credits include appearances on Covert Affairs, Fairly Legal and Hawaii Five-0.
