Anthony Michael Hall And Nolan Funk Join Awkward's Season 3
It’s been nearly half a year since MTV renewed its original series Awkward for a third season. While no premiere date has been assigned as of yet, there is good news on the horizon. The Breakfast Club’s Anthony Michael Hall and Glee’s Nolan Funk have joined the high school-oriented series in multi-episode arcs.
Hall, an eighties star and former John Hughes prodigy, spent plenty of years acting within the walls of fictional high school, and will now take a look at high school from the other end of the spectrum in Awkward. Hall will play a teacher in Season 3 named Mr. Hart. Despite the soft-sounding name, Hall’s character will actually be a heartless man who really works his students to the bone. Mr. Hart will also be the creative writing teacher at Palos Hills High.
Additionally, EW is reporting that Nolan Funk has also joined the cast, playing a student who quits his old school, favoring Palos Hills. Other than Funk’s transfer, not a lot is known about his character, except that he will be “confident.”
We may still have a while to wait for Awkward to return to MTV, but on the bright side, it looks like there will be plenty of new characters to look forward to. Additionally, the network has bumped up the number of Season 3 episodes from the normal 12 to a whopping 20, so we’ll get plenty more embarrassing and amusing moments from the cast upon the show’s return.
